At the other end some people claim that his businesses went bankrupt multiple times and that therefore he is actually a shitty businessman. Never really looked into it, but I felt that he had to have some business savviness to turn whatever he inherited into his current net worth, not knowing what the actual numbers were, it was just my general perception.
But today I saw an article saying that he inherited $100 million in shares in 1982, and that struck me as a lot, more than I thought he had inherited.
So out of curiosity I calculated how much that original investment into the SPX in 1982 would be worth today. The answer is over $6 billion, or $5.2 billion post capital gain tax, that's an 11% annualized return.
But Trump is only worth $2.5 billion today, not even half.
So yeah, he actually kind of suck from a business perspective too.

Atlas shrugged is exaggeration, but it has a very valid point that moderates and leftist extremists need to hear to balance the political spectrum over the truly fair middle ground.
