Let's also ponder the fact that PA absentee ballots cannot be counted until 7am election day nor disclosed until after the polls close. This is all very unusual. If they were found in the trash they should still not have been opened. Absentee ballots are very evident what's inside. How they ended up in trash, or if that EVEN happened, is beyond me.

Here's my spin. Someone fucked up and Trump is trying to use his corrupt justice department for political gain. Or it's a conspiracy to try and say voter fraud is happening.

Washington state has one of the highest mail-in voting percentages of any state. There have been 12 cases of voter fraud since 2004. 7 of those where mail-in fraud. They have had millions of people voting since 2004. This idea that mail-in fraud is even substantial is silly. This is especially rich considering how our commander in chief encouraged voters to commit voting fraud, a felony in that state.

Lol this is most likely a fuck-up by the sending parties and a failure to fix a known problem by the state officials, not a conspiracy.

PA ballots have something called a secrecy envelope. When sending in a ballot, voters are required to put the ballot in the secrecy envelope (effectively a blank envelope) and then the secrecy envelope into ANOTHER envelope (this time with their name and address).

This is actually done to try to prevent mail-in fraud. The election officials cross-check the name and address on the front of the 2nd envelope to make sure they're registered and haven't already voted, while preventing the possibility of learning and changing who the senders voted for. When the ballots are sent without the secrecy envelope, they called naked ballots.

The aforementioned article ballots were sent in envelopes that are VERY similar to ballot request envelopes. This was an issue back during the primary, they even stated as much:

Our interviews further revealed that this issue was a problem in the primary election -- therefore a known issue -- and that the problem has not been corrected

It seems, to any person who thinks through this logically, that the sending parties forgot their secrecy envelope, the state officials got the envelopes confused and opened them, and then tossed the ballots BECAUSE THE PA SUPREME COURT RULED THAT NAKED BALLOTS SHOULD BE THROWN OUT THANKS TO A GOP-FILED LAWSUIT.

This isn't some "anti-Trump Conspiracy", this isn't some indicator of mail-in fraud, it's the system acting the way the GOP wants it to. Unfortunately, for them, it blew up in their face because 7 out of 9 votes were for Trump.

What should be concerning to people is that the DoJ is attempting to politicize the issue during the lead-up to an election. This PR was HIGHLY unusual given that it was an ongoing investigation, lacked a lot of detail, and specifically mentioned who the votes were for.

I mean, they're even going against their own guidance from 2017- "any criminal investigation by the department must be conducted in a way that minimizes the likelihood that the investigation itself may become a factor in the election."
