New skis 2020/2021

I need new skis for Freeride this year and I'm wondering what people think about these 4 skis that I like the most;
-Head Kore 105
-Moment Wildcat 108
-Icelantic Nomad 105
-Rossignol Blackops Sender Ti 108
If you ride them or know someone who does then please let me know how you/they like them or dislike them.

My doubts and uncertainties with each skis are;
-Head Kore 105: too choppy at high speed? Are they good in tight stuff ?
-Icelantic Nomad 105: Weight? Playful?
-Moment Wildcat 108:How do they ride? Weight?
-Rossignol Blackops Sender Ti 108: Are they Heavy? how do they feel to ride?


Some brands that I like but am not sure exactly what ski to get are;
-K2
-Liberty
-Rocky Mountain Underground

If you have any opinions on these skis or any other recommendations then please let me know.

I cannot speak for the others, but the head kore 105 is a stiff ski for no metal and prefers a larger open space. It can still be handled in the tighter turns but doesn’t tend to initiate them.

what skis have you used in the past and what did you particularly like / dislike about them?

The Kore & Sender Ti are both very directional skis that want you to stay over their shovels.

Wildcat & Nomad are very playful skis that still let you ski them in a pretty directional style, but also let you ski them pretty centered / neutral and are way better if you intend on skiing (and particularly, landing) switch, or if you want a ski that's really easy to throw sideways.

I've spent time on all 4 so I can help a bit, but I think figuring out if you want to go very directional vs. playful would be the first thing to decide.

In regards to which K2 skis to checkout....I would recommend the Reckoner 112 or 102 if you want a more playful ski with a tail on it or the Mindbender 108Ti if you want a directional, more hard-charging ski with metal in it.

Both are really fun in their own light!

I went to the skis shop last night after writing this thread and like the K2 Reckoner 112, I also saw the Armada Arv 116 jj ul, the K2 mindbender 116 and the K2 mindbender 108ti. The armadas were super light but seemed way too soft. the mindbener 116 had an ugly graphic and im not sure in need 116 underfoot.
Does the titanium metal (in the 108ti) make the skis stiffer and more stable at high speeds?

Last year i was on a pair of Line sir francis bacon shortys. They werent at all durable, they were heavy, stiff, hard to maneuver and just felt like a boring plank of wood strapped to my feet.

The sir Francis bacon is a light and soft ski. If it felt heavy and planky, then you will probably want to look at other light and soft skis.

The other option is to do lots of squats and get the wildcat 108. Awesome ski but it’s definitely a stronger stiffer ski then the bacon.

They're 2018 and they're the bacon shortys so slighty different from the real bacons. i also had a pair of old old marker griffons on them which are heavy so maybe that's why they feel heavy.

How much do you weigh?
Honestly it sounds like you need to get stronger or work on your technique if the jr skis felt like that.

I find that the Ti models do have more of a hard charging, stable feel than the carbon based skis like the 116 or the Reckoner series. Those tend to be more loose and playful.

Glad you liked the Reckoner 112! That is the ski that I have personally gravitated to the most in the collection but I am excited to give a few more days to the Mindbenders this year.

Thanks everyone for the advice I think i'm going to go with K2 mindbender 18 Ti this year. now the question is which binding Haha.
