Ski season starting dates

Was wondering if resorts are gonna bring forward opening dates of the season. Here in Canada we're getting sub-zero temps at night and around 5-8 degrees Celsius in the daytime. Tremblant opens on November 20th. I think we'll probably get snow or at least freezing temps in October.

I'm thinking that less resorts are going to try to go for an October opening in Colorado and will probably wait until coverage is better and they can open with more than just a few runs. It'll be bad PR for any resort to open early and have a massive crowd of people packed onto one lift and one run no matter what social distancing measures are put into place. I'd expect late October/Early November openings for the early resorts like Keystone and A-Basin and Mid-November openings for everyone else. It all depends on snow though.

My home resort has always opened thanksgiving no matter the conditions, but they just announced that they're delaying opening 2 weeks this year so the can open with all 3 bases to spread people out for distancing purposes. Will be annoying if we get an early snow year, but the last 2 years there was pretty much no snow until the weekend before they opened so I see why they're planning on later. Sadly we don't get fall snowfall in the cascades near as much as farther inland
