Anybody else think solitary confinement is torture?

Its so fucked up. I cant believe this shit is still allowed. Give them a fucking tv and some books or something. Inmates dont deserve to go fucking crazy staring at a wall 24 hrs a day.







Its really sad how fucked up our purgatorial justice system is. Its like based off this witch hanging logic where the government acts like the country is crawling with evil people who need to be punished. I dont believe americans today are more evil on avg than europeans. But compared to europe we treat people in the justice system like animals. Literally if the nazis won the war the people residing in the united states would be treated better by the german/US territorial government than the US government treats its citizens today.

Also, the liberals who downplay/refute the fact that trump has done more for criminal justice reform than obama did are either complete idiots or lying pieces of shit. We still have alot left to go but trump is alot more libertarian than the libs give him credit for.

So by this logic, gas chambers are more humane and better treatment than our current prison system... got it. You do realize, everyone that was t Aryan would have been gassed/killed off, right? That was Hitlers master plan...? And if you weren’t lucky enough to get gassed right away, you’d be put into forced labor camps before being killed...

But yeah, our current prison system is worse than Nazi-Germany...

It’s not a good system to say the least but it comes from human-error (greed, people in power who shouldn’t be, shit judges/cops/guards).

Don’t become a hardened criminal and you won’t have to worry about this. Give them a tv...what??? Prison isn’t meant to be a spa. It’s meant to be a punishment. Punishment isn’t nice.

Im not comparing the current US with nazi germany. Im comparing the current US to what the current state of affairs would be in germany and the US if the nazis won the war 75 yrs ago. I think if germany won then gradually they would adapt to the reality that being tolerant and actually caring for the wellbeing of all citizens is alot more fun than being overly punitive and purgatorial. Today germany is light years ahead of the us in terms of tolerance. In germany, as well as many other european countries, the state runs medical clinics that give bidaily doses of hospital grade pure heroin for the patients to inject themselves with. It drastically cuts down on the negative impact of drugs on the addicts life. The addicts no longer have to rob or steal or prostitute themselves to get money to buy drugs on the street. Their addiction needs are completely taken care of by the clinic so the addicts can go work a normal job and have a home and save their money for things they need instead of spending it all to buy drugs on the street.

But enough on that. Im just using it as an example of how much more tolerant germany is of its citizens today than the US is of its citizens. And i think its a reasonable sentiment that if germany won the war, by now they would have become just as tolerant as they are today in the world we live in. But who knows.

not everyone who goes to prison is a hardened criminal. And is prison really meant to be about punishment? I think rehabilitation would be a better purpose.

Oddly enough, dolans right for once. Obviously gonna get downvoted to shit for this, but the american prison system is a joke. Take for example norway where they treat prisoners as people with the focus of rehabilitation, over there its actually unlikely for someone out of prison to re-offend, where in the us re-offenders are extremely fucking likely. Its just an endless loop and really need reform

I guarantee you every inmate under the sun would prefer strenuous forced labor over solitary.

forced labor is literally a minor inconvenience compared to the task of trying to stay sane while staring at a wall 24 hrs a day.

Truth. What do you think is the root of our CSI, law and order svu, etc.. culture where so many losers assume that the most important thing in the world is “punishing guilty people”.

i feel like its Partly from the puritans in early america who passed on through the generations a culture of fear and anger.

Its too bad nobody ethnically cleansed the earth of this angry, self righteous puritan filth because the world wouldve been a much better place today.

Again, Thats not what i said. I said if germany won the war, then today it would be as tolerant as germany is today, which is far more tolerant than the us is today
