Replying to ON3P Billy Goat 108?
Hi Longtime lurker, 1st time post here:
I'm thinking this is the year of new daily driver planks for me. I'm an primarily East Coast skier (Sugarloaf mostly, I also hit Jay, Stowe, and Cannon on occasion) and I currently ski Line Supernatural 108's. I also have a set of ON3P Cease and Desist for powder and a set of beater twin tips for screwing around. I love the ON3P C&D but its too soft/rockered for anything that isn't storm day skiing.
I am also a big fan of the Line SN108 but mine are pretty well damaged from use, and you can't buy them anymore. I've never skied anything that is as stable through choppy snow and day after powder leftovers as the SN108. I like the 108mm+/- width for daily skiing even though its wider than what most people in the east run, cause I don't really ski that much if it's really icy anymore. I rarely ski groomers unless skiing with friends who can't really do trees and ungroomed well.
Has anyone got experience with the Billy Goat 108? Seems like ON3P sells it in their "touring" series, but you can order it custom with standard layup.
Should I just go for the full 116 Billy Goat as a daily? I'm worried it will be like the C&D on ice (terrible) due to the width. Never had the chance to ski any Billy Goats at all, so I have no experience here.
