Replying to dagmars park - my opinion
so were almost into Jan and skiing is pretty much full swing thanks to some early snow.
im satisfied with resort opening times but must admit i am alittle dissapointed with dagmars park.
lets face it, dagmar will never be a moonstone or a blue but i believe with the right knowledge and i understand park stuff they could put together a awesome park.
first things first: their website.
i was stoked to hear about some of the new features dagmar was planning on building this year. their website promises 2 beginner, 2 advanced, and 2 expert jumps.
as of yesterday (dec 27) they had two retardedly flat jumps that a two year old could overshoot, and another advanced table that even smoking it from the top is next to impossible to clear the flat.
so where are the rest of the jumps?
who knows
the site also promises a pleatera of new rails for this season.
again as of yesterday the only completely new rail i see is a 'hippo' rail as dagmar is calling it. which looks like a combination of a rainbow rail into a flat down. im guessing this rail is anywhere from 35-45 feet.
so lets think about this. if dagmars most complicated rail is there 35 foot flat bar and hardly anyone steps up to that, why the fuck would you make a longer more difficult rail?
on the plus side dagmar fixed their Z rail into a S rail, but again this rail is completely pointless and i hardly doubt anyone will consider it. the c bank is now facing the more reasonable direction and not the un-natural direction that it faced lastyear.
so where are the 45 foot flat down box along with the other 5 or so jibs dagmars site says they have?
i dunno
well were on the topic of rails. dagmar promised all rails would be jump ons this year. jump ons just make sense. easy to maintain, easy to get onto, no little kids jumping off the sides of the rails. so far the only rails that are jump on is the 35 foot flat bar and the c bank which have to be jumps ons do to their construction. no surprize all the rest are ride ons.
so whats my point your wondering?
i just dont understand why dagmar cant maintain their park.
i am yet to be their this year when anything was in good condition. the jumps always have ruts that i could get lost in and the rails are just as badly beaten.
it dosnt take a rocket scientist to take one lap through the park and realize no one is hitting the rails, your jumps are too damn flat, and your so called advanced jump is fucking so sketchily reatardedly set up.
i think someone over there has no clue what the hell they are doing and needs to wake up and realize the talent of skiers that ski at dagmar and the needs of their customers.
we dont need 45 foot down flat down rails that are ten feet off the ground. we need nice mellow boxes to work on and practice the skills needed to slide more difficult rails.
we dont need jumps with 30 feet of flat that only superman could clear.
i realize it is early in the season and dagmar still could be constructing their new features that the site promises. however that begs the question what the fuck were they doing in the summer?
all runs are open and they have more then enough snow to build whatever jumps they were planning on building and setting up whatever rails they were planning on setting up.
so whats the holdup?
i dunno
what i do know is i spent $300 of my hard earned university budget on a membership in the hopes of hitting the features their site promises. so am i feeling a little let down? yes i am sure am.
get it together dummies
