i'm rocking an 195 '04 AK rocket with s-14s, an older 195 AK rocket w/dimaier freeride touring bindings for backcountry access, cratch bc w/ power 140s, and a scratch FS for the jibs.
x-wave 10 boots, giro and smith all the way... and just got in my scholler saloman-lab soft shell suit last night, it's insane. claims to dry in 15 min after removed from the washing machine.

Oh and Shaun, I'd definatly like another pair of skis for pow when I'm out west or there's nice conditions over here. I'd like a pair of ARVs, MSPs or maybe some moship Flites. MMmmm....
As for having two pairs of park skis in the same length and condition, I don't know about that.

Depends how heavy you are and how hard you ski on your skis. If you are gonna straight line the park all day and only weigh 140 lbs, then 810's are fine...if you look like Thor, I'd suggest nothing less than a 912 from Salomon. Every binding company has different strength settings with bindings, for example, a din of 10 on a Salomon binding could be equal to a 12 on a rossi. The other thing is, you gotta remember that the max your binding should be set at is one below the max of the binding (hence, din of 9 on an 810, 11 on a 912). I say find $75 somewhere and go with the 912ti's.

sounds good man, thanks a million, i'ved snapped the springs on some 710s and i'd prolly do the same to the 810.

I use the S810ti bindings... they are not enough for me. I weigh 155 and am 5'6'', so I'm not a big guy but I pop out all the time when I shouldn't. Spend the extra and get ths 12s

The din on your binding should mainly be set accordingly to your skill level. If your a putz in the park then don't crank your binding. If your not cranking 40 foot tables then you shouldn't be boosting out of your bindings on most of our parks. I know pros who ski with their dins on 8 who hit 80 footers. Any binding with a din of 8 should do for maritime parks...but again it's according to your skill level.

alot people will go out and buy 100 buck bindings that go to 10 and be pissed when they pop off than go get super nice ones that go to 14, but all u really need is good bindings(saloman 810s, rossi 100s) . And sometimes the saloman bindings will pop off with the dins high becuase the wings on the bindings arent positioned right.

Yes, I had that problem with my salomon bindings. The dual toe piece wasn't making proper contact with the boot and I'd pop out even at a DIN of 10.

what a post!! i think the maritimes is super nitto with all the twintippers..
ya dan,
you know your shit when it comes to sking, but not when it comes to bindings...heres the deal;
your binding is crucial as we all know....
your daul toe piece can be adjusted very easiely, they misalign every so often and should be check here and there. you will need a lamanated piece of paper, you should be able to slid this under your toe and thats all. your toe angle tension can be checked by simply putting yur boot in the binding on the carpet, have one guy hold the ski and the other crank as if you were falling, you want 80 lbs torque. you can tighten your toe.
your din should read according to your standard chart reading, those charts are not BS. maybe go up 1 0r 2 if yur comfortable with that. If your din should be set at 6.5 (according to the chart) you should have a binding with a din of 3-10 or 4-12. the rule: your binding din range should allow for your setting to be in the middle. this allows enough tension on the spring to release and 'bring you back' if you dont crash and it also doesnt strain the spring. i would say you need to have someoe look at you toe, that is a fine binding yur riding for your weight.
but
i will never argue with buying good bindings..it is very smart to have titanium, carbon, for obvious reasons.
and WU, you ski with pros and know there din settings, your so hot :)

oh ya,,,if yuo crank yur DIN to 10 that has nothing to do with your toe angle release, yur creating more trouble for yourself.

Holy, this fourm went from skis to bindings real quick. I've had trouble with salomon bindings, but no real trouble with rossi, do you think rossi 100's would be better than salomon 810ti's?

Yeah Jeff, thats what I did when I was having the problems with my bindings, like I said there wasn't proper contact with the boot. It was fixed for a day or two but reverted back to the problem. We fixed the toe piece again but my springs appear to be worn and they lose their tension pretty quickly. I know I shouldn't be at a Din of 10 and I know that I should have my DIN at about 60% of max to prolong the life of the binding, but I didn't have enough for a higher DIN binding and was skiing my binding at about 8.5 for three seasons. I think the springs are finally starting to loose tension. I understand how a binding works and what a person should be using but I'm just saying I seem to be having bad luck with my Salomons.

just screw your boots right into the skiis, saves the binding weight, that's how us newfies do it, and we never pre-release....

Dynastar Candides(i cant just say 'candides' anymore, damn you salomon), rossi freeXXX boots from same year, and scratch BC's. Oh yeah, 3 herniated discs in my back will pbly keep me out of the park for, lets see, the rest of my life(i thought it was one, but 2 in the lower back and one in middle). I'll be skiing the glades with enthusiasm tho.
