Not sure how many of you noticed the post on the main page about Freeze mag being shut down by Transworld. I know some of you are more Freeskier guys and shit, but for the sport in general, this is a blow backwards. The last mag will be the January 2005 issue...
This will either give huge growth to freeskier or just create enough space for another up and coming mag.

Transworld has to look at it's revenue. Freeskier aren't as populas as surfers or skaters for example. I've competed in comps put on by Freeze and the company was wack. ask anyone who's gone to the US open. Stick with companies like Freeskier who are owned and operated by freeskiers.

yeah, but it's a sick magazine that seems to give you the perspective of more than the huge pros and guys from just out west and in the mountains. i enjoyed it.
Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, 'It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver.'

Who isn't a subscriber by now. Jesus, every ski movie you buy gives you a 'free' one year subscription...I would have mailed in all of mine, but Freeze has been notorious for years that their mags never show up on time (2 weeks late) if at all! Hmmn...maybe that's why projected subscription revenues were low!
It's true though, I understand that they want to cut their loses, or focus their profits in other directions, but if they just raise the advertising costs a lil, and cut out a bit, it might have been a more profitable business venture.
Just a shame to see the mag go...

yeah but it's hard to be profitable when every kid has like 2 years worth of free subscriptions...
