TTM: How is your season going so far?
TD: I have been able to ski a lot more since i quit my racing career, and am focusing totally on my jumping, style and so forth.
TTM: I heard you have been in the comp scene this year....is that true?
TD: Yea, i did the qualifying comps up here in AK and they said i was bomb so they sent me of to the USASA nationals to put my shit to the test on a national level
TTM: And the outcome?
TD: I got first in the slope style and half pipe, i reached my biggest goal and that was to beat Mike Olenick and i did.
TTM: That's SIck, what did the sponsors have to say about that?
TD: Well Kevin Bennett helped me out with a resume, and a sponsorship vid, and its currently being wel-observed by dynastar at the moment.
TTM: What's your on-slope influence?
TD: All the twintipmafia kids push me at alyeska, but when im watching jib flicks, my favorites are Jon Olsson, and David Chrichton and CR because of his beautiful work in Cordova.
TTM: You planning on filming in Cordova?
TD: Not this season, but a trip next year is in the planning stage along with TTM crew.
TTM: Lets talk tricks, how have your skill's developed and progressed this season compared to lasts?
TD: Well I have been trying to get lots of switch tricks dialed. I got Fat skis this season, and they help a lot riding and jumping in the BC. I also work the pipe and rails, because those are important for comps. i Definitely want some better comp results next year, so i trying to get consistency in all my tricks.
TTM: What's more important to you, style or consistency?
TD: Well you have to have both or your trick is nothing. But doing a trick over and over and telling yourself you can land it every time will get you there.
TTM: How does school fit in to all this ski time?
TD: it doesn't, that's why i hate it.
TTM: Haha, all the TTM crew is in high school does that affect our skill?
TD: Well you also have to remember that skiing is very young, so getting all the younger kids involved is key. Plus once people get older they lose interest and most parents push there kids to race and such bullshit. Hopefully in the future it will all change but not without more influence?
TTM: Are you providing an influence from your point?
TD: Definitely, just being up there on the hill and showing the jiblets a thing or two here and there will get them interested, then they beg there parents for skis and then a young jibber is born.
TTM: That’s all it takes?
TD: Yeah, basically, so i gotta bounce but thanks for sharing your time and hopefully we will be bringing you more footage in the next few weeks.
TTM: Aight Late
TD: Peace
