zach i was driving around yesterday and ended up going towards the gleen hiway and taking a left to go to eagle river then another left up hiland road. this place is epic, and we def could find some close range booter/gap/hip/material up here. it is about 20 miles with a steep paved road to get to but when it snows there is some very good potential here id sayit is basically the valley behind alpenglow

i think tim and i will stay pretty close to the road, we never go that far, so we probably wont have to worry about avalanches, will we?

it depends on whats above you man, if you have a huge open face over 30 degrees you could be in trouble, even if you think you wont set one off you may be in the path of a runout, so just try to be aware, i've had people accidently release ones above me and bury me up to my neck, i had to get dug out, it sucked... i reccommend like an avalanche class or a little research on the net, any info could save your life, some class only take a few hours and cost like 4 bucks, check it out... and avalanches have been known to cover the roads and even take out houses back there, you might notice huge piles of dirt near houses, they're to block the snow, that place is for real man

yeah i noticed that most of the slopes are avalacnhe types, but is there any spots that would be good for huge gaps or backcountry booters?
