And by PERCIEVED he means they thought that they always felt crappy around menstruation. Really, people are prone to remember a specific instance which confirms their beliefs. So if a woman feels bitchy during menstruation 1 / 10 months, then she is more likly to remember it and PERCIEVE being bitchy during menstruation.
