^You'd damn well better. NEVER see the movie first when the books are this good. And easy to read. Anyways, I'm going to go into these things looking at them as a movie, and not even hoping that they live up to the books, because they can't.
Zaphod Beeblebrox only has one head, apparently, too... I don't know where to start on how wrong that is.

yeah, not looking 100% forward to the movie. It will probably not be able to live up the success of the book. I could see it as quite a difficult screenplay to adapt.

^It's not actually adapted really, Douglas wrote a screenplay for a movie before he died. He just wasn't finished with it. But it has been tweaked.

it's about a little boy who's got a little book that has the constelations, and he can kinda like send himself to anywhere in the book, and he has these adventures with space creatures and child molesters

Earth gets blown up from the way of an intergalactic highway, but Arthur Dent, a loserish type from England, gets saved by his friend Ford Perfect(or Prefect?) who has been stranded on Earth for years, as he is an alien too. And that's like the first 20 pages.
In my opinion the third book is the greatest, with the crazy robots that take Marvin's leg as he's talking himself up to a...couch, was it? :D

Definitely one of my favourite reads ever! Like everyone else I am looking forward to the movie but a little worried what they might do to it. All 4 books of the trilogy might be a little much to cram into a regular sitting, and theres so much that shouldnt be left out. And to everyone who says that zaphod only has one head the offficial rumour is that they were creative with camera angles in the trailor to keep the 2nd head a surprise till the movie (have to wait and see)
Darina zaphods is actually my fave bar....its funny how many things in real life have been inspired by the book that noone realizes ( a few being radioheads "Parnoid andriod" and the online translation service Babblefish)
