camera settings

i have a EOS digital rebel it has settings on it called A-DEP, M, Av, Tv, and P
can soemone tell me what they mean and what they do...what there good for and so on..

A= aperature setting, meaning you change the F stop and the camera changes the speed for you
T= time, so you set the shutter speed and the camera find the correct F-stop
M= manual, so you use the light meter and change both

here is how a-dep works, put the camera on a-dep, then push the button half way down, any thing under a focus point that turns red will be in focus(the camera selects the proper shutter speed and apature)
