Yeah, so I think I broke my 2nd pair of Line Bindings, but.....

So, went to pop a 3 on sunday, and ended up SPINNING out of my binding because the heel moved again and the lock stopped working just like it did on my original pair that were 2 years old. But, the owner of the store where I just brought them back to mentioned something that I never knew.

The locks that hold the toe and heel in don't usually snap all the way closed, and you usually have to force them closed. Turns out that what's basically happening is that when you force it closed, you're not locking it, but instead stripping the locks. I guess you need to wiggle the toe/heel back and forth until it clicks itself closed..........

SOOOOOOOO, my 2 pair of broken Line bindings are really not but binding's fault at all, but instead more of user error. SICK!

Becuase, the 1st pair of bindings that I had, that I bought off a rep before the bindings went into full production were BOMBPROOF, until the heel got fucked up. and, my NEW pair were ALSO BOMBPROOF, until I managed to fuck up the binding in the exact same way.

I'm pretty sure the shop's gonna warranty me a new pair, and then I'll be sure not to make the mistake a 3rd time....

It was mandatory that we stoped in a skate shop in Tokyo so Bibby could by a sweatshirt. He also bought neck chains one with a Cadillac logo and the other one a cross. He was looking real ghetto until he saw two black people and removed them automatically because he was scared to get beat up.

i own 2 pairs of line skis and have reactor 12's but I use P14's on my motherships instead..... i don't trust them for big mt

yo - i just broke a pair of reactor 12s. i've only had them for a couple months and my toe piece is practically cracked in half. i don't have money to buy another pair, you think line will help me out on this one?

thats sweet ya i always thought that there were wayyy too many breaking for it to just be mass manufacturers defects and thats totally true about the click thing cuz its the same type of system with atomic bindings there on like a slide type deel its cool but u need to know what ur doin before u just give'er a go. i think line would have more success if they put in some instructions or warnings of this but hey , thats not up to me.

well i just got back from utah, and when i was out there i managed to break 2 pairs in 2 days. the first day i dropped a small 20 foot cliff, no biggy. but when i get the bottem my toe piece slides forward and i couldnt get it to stay in place, it just kept moving on me (mind you i got them mounted at a ski shop and never touched the bindings except for increasing the dins). so i go to a shop in SLC and get a pair to replace them. i have them mount them up that morning, i get on them, take two runs and the exact same thing happend.

yeah those reactors suck in pow...i think the heelpiece is too big...it doesn't have to stick out like a freggin dildo...and line says that the baseplate allows the ski to flex freely, but it doesn't...the baseplate is where the weight is

i broke a pair of the the reactor's early this year but i have skiid the 06 and they are sex, no problems , well for me and im very hard on gear.

^Word. X brakes Look bindings for breakfast and we've been skiing new Reactors really hard for a month now without problems. The 06 stuff is bomber wait and see. I love the new 6 hole setup on the 06 skis too. it makes it totally worth rocking the reactor cuz you can ski multiple lines and have more mounting options.

PS get the Prophet 130 it will change your life, your plans for life, and the lives of all your friends who try them. My wife is having a baby in he fall and it's the only ski I'm keeping.

pollard uses them in pow. if they're good enough for pollard they're more than good enough for you.

most of the breakage problems, probably about 90%, are user related. dumb fuckers trying to mess with the toe or heel piece that don't know how to set it correctly then the parts inside get stripped. also, make SURE that the shop you get them set at initially is line binding certified. they should not be touching them anyway if they're not certified because you can sue the shit out of them if they set it wrong and you get hurt. the toe and heel pieces do not set like anything else out there on the market.

I've seen Pollard using Salomon S916's on his big mountain skis.

What advantage does the Line have? Just use Look P12/14/18's they are better, or Salomon S916s if you can find them.

I got Line skis this year but i used my old bindings on them. I'm thinking about getting Line bindings but I heard that they are crap, should i get some or wait till they get better?

no, pollard uses the reactors. the whole team does. that's part of the reason wilson left. he didn't want to use them because he thought they weren't safe. ironically he almost blew his knee on the salomons.

They have no release mechanism. That's fine if you don't like reactors, but how exactly do Salomons seem safer? Their release values in a backward twisting fall are way too high. You WILL blow your knee on them if you fall wrong.

actually..i change my mind..i just went skiing in pow yesterday.and im happy with how the reactors are holding up..the heelpiece still sticks out like a dildo though..
