go deeper man. Nobody reading your paper (especially your teacher) will care aobut the technical aspects of spins grabs etc. You can have a short paragraph about the in the beginning of your paper. The bulk of your paper should be about the stuff that makes freeskiing one of the most important aspects of your life. Maybe talk about the significance of the word 'free' in freeskiing. How it frees you from the confinese of traditional skiing/racing, or how skiing the big mountain frees you from the city life, or how the feeling of being suspended in the air is almost spiritual and frees you from all the crap in the world. teachers love hearing stuff like that and your paper will be more interesting.

It's a research paper, right? Do some research- use your ski magazines and quote people from NS. Teachers blow their loads if you actually do interviews for a research paper.

I was always taught the research papers were supposed to be written in 3rd person, so this doesn't really sound so much like a research paper as it does a person narrative. If you chose this subject you obviously feel passionately about skiing, which I think means you should think of what to talk about on your own. But definately do not go into the technical aspects of skiing because like the other guy said, that's just going to confuse your teacher and it will make the paper overall look sort of cheesy.
