Center Mounting

What is real center mounting, i'm getting mine redone after this season. I ski mostly park and pipe, but slopes too... where should i get them mounted at +2 or something?

right now the bindings are set equal on either side of the line that comes on the ski (scratches) but to be centered it looks like it needs to eb forward more... 1.5 back doesn't make sense to me

K2's come marked with a midsole grid that starts at a recommended midsole location and then moves forward on the ski in 1/2 cm increaments to a true core center. This distance is roughly 7.5 cm on a 179 cm ski. (Think Made'n, Seth, P.E., and Fugative)

there is the recommended mounting point, which is the littlel ien you see on your ski. That is not true centre. On K2s, it's about 7.5 forward of that to be true centre I think. Other companies may be different

DON'T centre mount. It doesn't really help your performance, just have them slightly more forward than normal. That way not only do you have skis mounted well for park and pipe, but for every other aspect of skiing as well.

Mount on the recommended position. If you don't mount on the position the ski is designed for..you'll have less fun, for sure!!!!
Most skis offer you a adjustable zone..(There is a mark on the ski, which represent the middle of your boot NOT the center of the ski!!)+, - 1-2 cm is common...

What ever people may say do not mount them back of the recomended center of the ski. if you do, you will find that it is much harder to turn you ski, because it completly screws up the turn ination of the ski. i recently got the new mad trix. i mounted the ski one inch foward of the mark on the ski. this puts you more centered on the ski, and it has a very neutral balance when im spinning.

jon skiied his forward of center at some comps last year so he could nose grab properly. but there is a line on the ski (the one farther back) that represents where you would tradionally mount a ski, if you just intended on doing turns with it. that mark coincides mainly with the sidecut of the ski. the mark at the middle of the ski, or the center mark, represents where the ski is fattest vertically (think even flex) and the apex of the side cut (think less energy than further back, but a more predictable turn shape) mounting your skis at center is more desirable from a park perspective, because you dont have to worry about compensating for your skis popping you unevenly, and your skis are more predictable if you want to set an edge of a jump, however, they will be harder to ski in powder, or crud snow because you will have more snow pushing up on the back of your skis, which will try to send you head over heels.

Fedyk, just take them to a shope and tell them you want them mounted CORE CENTER. They will know what you're talking about.
