Longboarding: The next big thing?

Well I hope its not because I dont want popular culture ruining one my favorite things to do. Today I saw three other people longboarding on my way to sailing. Im so starting to get pissed off that I see more and more longboards be riden by posers. People that don't know the trucks from the bearings. I've been riding a longboard for over 3 years now and now am afraid it will be the 'cool' thing. Well at least I can pray it won't!!!

ya i think the whole poser thing is stupid. everybody sucks when they first start at something. i only think you r a poser if you pretend to be something you aren't.

longboards are rad dude, but even if they become a trend and 3rd graders start rockin' them, it wont last, it wont be like with scooters, longboards are a totally different mode of transport, posers cant handle them for more than a few weeks, not that the rides 'so intense' or 'extreme', the posers would just get bored

they are also a shit load more expensive then a
scooter. i doubt it will become the thing to do becaus not everyone has a place to ride or go, or live close to the beach, you know what i mean. I started longboarding this summer and its fun as hell.

Skating, Yeah I should of specified. It just pisses me off that all this idiots from my town are now trying to cruise around town. They can barely push off. I go up to talk to them and they think they are hot shit, but have no clue what they are talking about. Don't get my wrong, I want the sport to become more popular but with the right type of people. I'm totally fine with the people that ride because its fun and infact I help them get started, its just the people who ride b/c its 'popular' and 'cool' that piss me off.

Everyone in my city longboards. Well not everyone but a huge percentage of the university population which makes up the north part of my city. Longboards are like the primary mode of transport to class and stuff like that coz most students can't afford cars or petrol and stuff so everyone blades or longboards, works really well.
