High school free style league???!!!!!

Ok , i want to form or start a high school ski league in northern ontario, then work our way around the province, then the country. This has come out of me looking at how many people new school ski at my school, and how we don't like team sports. I can pull 7s but i can't really goal kick in soccer. This could be a way for skiers to show their moves in front of scouts.
I am in Kapuskasing Ontario, and looking for other people from other schools in the area. (O'gorman, TDSS, THVS, and others) HIT ME UP!!!

That would be wicked. I live in alberta and i can't dribble, kick or smack a small birdy with a badminton racket to save my life. Good idea. The school sports we have are kinda dumb i think. It would be hard though since it would be really expensive and not all high schools are close to a ski hill. Anyway i support you fully in this expedition.

problem = liability. Schools have enough trouble just organizing school ski trips, nevermind organizing freestyle skiing. Also, it would be a mogul type league since it is the most structured and schools liek structure. Yo uwill never have a big air or half pipe comp being hosted by a school district. I think the first step would be to email OFSSA, I think thats the governing body of high school sports in Ontario. I bet it has already been tried though.

Actually, it has not, not for mogels or anything. Mostly racing. But if they have football, then skiing is much less violent, and much less injuries. And why just moguls, if there is a demmand for it then they will do it. That is why i am asking who is interested in it. I know that out there, are many skiers waiting for their chance.

^one problem. there isn't enough of a demand. less than 100,000 people freeski anyway. the amount of demand nationally and internationally is so small that not enough schools/resorts/opportunity exists. no one in my school even does that

the problem is liability. even if there are more injuries in football, the injuries in skiing are more serious, usually involving major bones broken, and sometimes death. the schools could not get enough insurance for those kinds of injuries

that would be wicked if schools had a freestyle ski team. however the percentage of highschool students taht freeski is so miniscule that there might be like 5 ppl on the team. at my highschool of like 800 ppl, there is maybe 3 other ppl other than me that freeski.

liability is an obvious answer. but also, it's just not a big enough sport, period.
