I've noticed that some snowboarders seem to make quite a lot of money. Do lots of them have big salaries or is it only the big names?

A big name makes tons of cash, a decent pro who does fairly well in comps and makes it into movies and mags will do better than even the top skiers.

Skiers don't make jack shit, except for Moseley and the Eurpopeans, they are like super stars there (remember baseball, basketball and football aren't popular there, only soccer). And yes, many snowboarders make bank, you can thank popular culture for that, and the Backstreet Boys. Pretty much where skiing will end up in 6 to 10 years, if we ever get as cool as snowboarding.

Shaun White and Ross Powers are making close to a million a year. Others like Walker, Line, Kass, Jussi, Kier, etc make in the high hundred thousands, like between 500 000 and 800 000.
Even small names make big money if your on the right team, Burton fro example. Skiers make jack shit, well not all, Hall, CR, Olson are making alot of money probably, guy like Boronoski probably doesn't make very much, but I dont really know.

dude you said if skiing ever becomes as cool as snowboarding. what up with that? I'd rather have it be considered less cool and avoid seeing it be killed by companies that have nothing to do with the sport. skiing is cool has been cool and will be cool!
