A question for pro skiers only

For those of you that are pros, at what point can I start to tell people I am a pro skier? Once I get a sponcer does that make me a pro? Or does it have to do with making money on the sport, because in other sports you lose your amateur status once you get paid to do it. I plan on getting sponcered soon and I want to make sure I am saying the right things.

i dont think you will be pro anytime soon if thats your best. sponsored maybe but not a pro so dont go calling yourself that.

Bishop has the best defination i guess but when u look at SHiller, he has covers, ads, everyone knows him but he is AM stil (i think anyways)

to add onto what Dave said though, a paid salary (not free gear or free lift ticket) but an actual salary and paid to go to events and shoots is another good indicator (again, shiller gets that and he's am....why not make him pro and make this easier for us!)

Dude, it's a fucking long time from your first sponsor to being pro.

You are the recreational skier giving his 2 cents. If you were even in the neighbourhood of coming close to pro, you'd sooner cut off your testicles than post a thread like this.
