There needs to be some crazy shit done this year, becuse skiing is getting stale. Alot of the stuff i saw in the movies this year was cool, but nothing like when i saw the older movies. I was talking to some snowboarders i work with and they are all talking about 'The white album', Sean Whites new movie. They are all about it, they are saying he is doing things that made them to want to stop snowboarding. I use to be like that after seeing a movie, but how much farther can we go? With the show at the the US open big air kinda supports what im saying. Anyone else feal this way?

i dont think i have ever seen anyone throw a true tip press on a hard urban rail
It would be cool to Americanize this poop show somehow. But, instead of squeezing poop out of animals, we could beat Chinese hookers with crowbars. - random net person that i found on a site shown to me by apple

I think I recall seeing Candide go cork 810 to rail. That's not pushing the limits at all. And Jon throwing (and STOMPING) switch corked unnatural tail 10s...definitely not mind blowing.
Perhaps you're just desensitized. Maybe your expectations are too high. Or maybe you need to wake the fuck up.

I am going to have to disagree 100% with what Switch_9 said about skiing being WAY more ahead of snowboarding. No way man... Have you ever seen Chulksmack, or Saturation?
I will say that big mountain skiing, and big spins in skiing are probably more technical, but snowboarding has us beat nasty style in the steeze department.
Watching Jeremy Jones butter around, and do 50/50 nose and tail presses on urban rails blew me away. I think skiing will progress to do some stuff similar to that, but it will take a while... our aspect of skiing is a fairly new sport.
Even snowboarders' clothing is so much radder, and more original than what we have. Snowboarders (for the most part) have gotten over the whole gangsta wigger steeze, and have invented their own style of dress/lifestyle. O
Once again, we will get there, but we need a few years.
We gonna whack it til the wheels fall off.

Ok, sorry about my other post. I'm having a bad day.
But I do think it's important to remember that progression isn't always going to be as fast as it has been in our sport in the last 5-7 years. There are going to be peaks and valleys and right now we're nearing the most recent 'peak.' We're not there yet (IMO), but I think we will be there soon.
The limits have been pushed so hard recently that it's gonna take some serious creativity to have some 'crazy shit.' I'm interpretting 'crazy shit' to mean something like Seth throwing rodeo 7's off cliffs. Stuff like that doesn't happen every season--it takes time for people to push the envelope. Granted, we in freeskiing are pushing our envelope faster than other aspects of skiing (racing--and by no means does that mean the aren't pushing themselves--they are and they rule IMO), but like I said above I think we're reaching a climax.
I'm just wondering when freeskiing is going to blow its load.

i feel there is still alot to learn like bigger longer urban rails, 270s onto urban kinks, cork 9s and cab 7s and cab 10s off big backcountry kickers, rather than all the cork 7s people have been throwing into powder, one ski grinds will have to become popular eventually with stuff like 5050 to 270 switch up on down kinks and 270 backslides and fastslides....but like misty 7 i havent been to impressed with the overall progression of the sport the past year or 2, while there are some standout tricks, i would think the sport would have progressed faster but hey, it just makes it that much easier to catch up haha

i think some of the tricks in our upcoming movie have had little exposure, if ever done. sammy carlson, for example, is doing rail tricks i think iannick b would be blown away with. tim durtschi, another cat in our film, is the one of the illest jumpdudes out there; doin' stuff in the backcountry i've never seen in videos (up until this year's teasers from some other companies). tommy ellingson, he'll hit anything bigger than anyone and try kickers never thought possible. jamie pierre, max peters....
OH WHATEVER, WAIT TIL' RAGE FILMS NEXT MOVIE COMES

new jumps, new rails, better style and different tricks. theres always new ways to grab, new ways to spin+flip.i know there is no way skiing is at it's end, if snowboarding can keep progressing so can skiing.
