Just got a new pair of edollos. Haven't had new skis in ages. Never ridden attacks, and only have a pair of ollddddd as pivots from late 90's that ended up fucking up.
Pivot 12's are $180 and Attack 13's are $160 (cad). What binding would you get? I feel like the pivots may be a bit heavier, and I am a a light guy / love a light ski setup.
I keep flipflopping and just need to make a decision before both options are sold out!
In my mind, pivots are the best, but go with attacks if it's significant to you that they're less expensive, lighter, and a little closer to the ski. They're also a more traditional style binding and they click in as such
theyre both fire, go with your gut and pick one and never look back
I skiied attack 13s on a 9 most of last year. Great binding, no prerelease issues. I dont ski park, but when I took my 194 big mountain skis to hit rails this spring the attacks did great there too

No, pivots as a whole have a reputation for durability and consistency and that reputation has been earned over the past 20 years literally. No one else in the binding world can claim that
I'd vote for attacks over pivots. If you are heavy in the park the attacks brakes will hold up better and you won't have to deal with trying to bend or replace brakes on your pivots. I don't know why people always over look how shitty it is to have to deal with pivot brakes. Save the $20 for some beers.

okay yeah the only pair of Pivots I had the brakes got so mangled it was a nightmare. didn't realize that was a common issue.
I have multiple pairs of both. The attaaks do feel lighter and closer to the snow, the pivots make me feel better about my knees. You can’t go wrong either way, enjoy!
I copped a pair of pivot 12s this year and to me they feel pretty light (I haven’t mounted them yet but when they I’m holding them they feel light). I’m pretty light myself (6’1” 155 lbs) and I don’t think it’ll be too heavy for me. IMO they are also safer because you can dismount from them if you crash and they won’t make you get hit by your skis because of the turn table heel
I have attacks on my pow ski and pivot on the park and pipe skis.
Nothing wrong with the attacks. I like the pivot because of the metal construction, pivoting heel and brake release.
Plus, in the park flexing full tilts and pivots, you will drip.
Easily worth $20 more.
