Butters on ON3P Magnus 102

I just got my Mango Sunrises, these are my first pair of my own skis cause I'm finally adult size and prob done growing. I have no refrence but these feel kind of stiff, am i going to be able to learn butters and stuff on these?

first off can you butter or are you wanting to learn?
A buttery ski is gonna have a soft tip and progressively get stiffer. For a true butter with a bent or pressed nose ya need some support, you picked a gr8 ski and your gonna have a blast, it can bend , press and POP

The anorexic 15 yr old can’t butter the skis like the instagram skier!

Tbh if you wanted to learn butters probably should have bought like a line honey badger or something. Just enjoy the skis you have because magnuses rip even if you don’t butter.

just make sure your dins arent too low and really try to reach your head over the tips of your skis almost

Just keep trying to press and pop off of everything you hit. Get used to the feeling of pressing into your tips and tails and keep getting more aggressive with it, you’ll figure it out pretty quick. On flat snow you can try rocking back and forth and putting pressure on each end of your skis to get used to the feeling.

Yeah, especially important with the Magnus. It and basically all other ON3P skis are different from most "butter-oriented" skis in that ON3P's are comparatively very stiff, but have way more rocker than most. So especially at first, you might not be actually bending the ski a whole lot, but the big tip / tail rocker gives you a nice leverage point, so its wayyy easier to get up on ON3P's tips and tails than a similarly stiff ski with a more "typical" rocker profile. And once you get used to finding that pivot / leverage point on the Magnus and start putting some force into it, I find that they produce way more pop out of a butter than softer skis tend to do (which can sometimes feel "mushy" and like they don't snap back once you bend them).

yeah on3p s might not be the softest but then again super soft skis kinda suck for butters cause there is nothing to pop you back up
