Moving out west - what skis?

I'm moving out to Kelowna from Ontario this winter so I will be buying my first pair of non-park skis. I'm planning on getting a ski that will be good for in resort (big white and silverstar) but also allow me to take an avy course and eventually get into the backcountry. I'm planning on mounting with regular bindings and then getting daymakers for when I want to try touring. Being a park skier I think I will want a more jibby, symmetrical ski and I'm not as focused on charging really fast and being super stable. Some skis I'm looking at are ON3P woodsman 108 or 116, bent chetler 120, moment wildcat 108, Armada magic J, J skis vacation, Line sir Francis bacon. I only have park skis to compare to which isn't that helpful but I've had a few pairs of j skis whipits which I really liked and I ended last season on armada ARV 86s.

Depending on height/weight, you might not even want something as wide as a bentchetler. I'm 6'4, 200 and I've always felt like a 112 was plenty wide for me. I'd take a look at the K2 Reckoner 112s as well, I know Crazy Karl skis those, and so did many of the jibbier semi pro and pros at the bird last year. Those are also fairly light, and would make a good 50/50 touring ski. Jskis Vacation is very very much a noodle, and not quite wide enough for a West Pow ski in my opinion. Moment's stuff are good too. Inbounds, you're often skiing chopped up stuff, not fresh pow, so consider that as well

Double post, but also check out the Inthaynes if you like doing anything which switch landings. Those might be stiffer than what you want, but I'd feel remiss if I didn't recommend them as pow skis since they are pretty damn excellent.

I’d get a nice daily driver you could maybe still bring into the park...I daily drive 108 underfoot and love it

Armada ARV 116 JJ mounted on the freestyle line, you can get those with your eyes closed you’re gonna love them.

There is plenty of other skis that would suit you of course but the JJs are the sure thing for a first pow skis with freestyle background.
I know so many people who were so hyped when they got them, including myself of course!

Thanks for the suggestions, The reckoner 112 and the arv 116 jj both seem like good considerations. I also realized that the jeffery is definitely more of what I want than the woodsman from ON3P. Jeffery 108 or 116 both look really good. I think I'm leaning more towards wider skis since I'll still have my park skis if I ever want them.

The Reckoner 122 has been one of my favorite skis of all time. That being said, my little brother has the JJ 116 and they are awesome. Can’t go wrong.

Look at what the pros ride in the park. Almost everyone in the X-games is using something 100 or less underfoot.

Big White and Silverstar get nice dry light snow, but not always a ton at a time. I think it would probably be more fun on the daily to have something in the 105-112 range unless you just wanna ooptimize your setup for pow days and sacrifice some snappiness on others.

Jeffrey 108 floats and surfs better than my old 115mm bacons and they’re really solid for chop n the like. Super jibby and poppy and fun to ride regardless of the conditions. Tons of rocker and I don’t find myself looking for anything wider even when it’s deep. Would recommend.

Also Wildcat 108 or Deathwish could be ideal.

Reckoner 112 sounds fun too.
Prodigy 3.0 too if they’ve figured out durability?

I I found some of last years Jeffery 108s for almost half price and went for them. Seems like it’s a pretty perfect do it all ski. I might end up Eventually making a quiver with something wider for really deep days but I think these should be good to start me off

Get something with 105-110 underfoot. Nothing more. You'll never end up skiing them if they are bigger than that at silverstar or big white.
