Good_Deedtbh this sounds a whole lot like the Zimmerman case, someone stirred the pot knowingly. Couldn't handle the situation that they caused so they killed someone. All the gun nuts run out to support them, the laws in this country are trash when it comes to murder and guns. He will most likely walk but like most cases like this the kid will get an ego and think he is untouchable and will end up back at court for another crime he will commit.
This is nothing like the Zimmerman case. Wisconsin doesnt have a stand your ground law. If Rittenhouse had done what Zimmerman did then he would almost certainly be convicted of manslaughter.

You do know the entire reason why the confrontation started between him and Rosenbaum is because Rittenhouse put out a fire that Rosenbaum had lit in a trash can with a fire extinguisher and that's why Rosenbaum began chasing him. If someone tries to kill you because you prevented them from committing fucking arson and you are on the side of the arsonist you seriously need to look into your life values.

There are two types of people in the world. Those that see things happening like car crashes and robberies who stand up for good and try and stop it/ help the victim, the second are weaklings like you who keep walking and mind your business. I said this earlier the video shows they clearly WERE sanctioned by the government. The police were approving their presence and letting them through the barricade lines of MRAPS and cars. If there is a violent protest the police are, at least in theory, there to keep order and protect life and property. If business owners and by extension people directed by business owners are there for the same goal they are 100 percent effectively sanctioned by the state when they are given a different set of standards than those there to protest.
I am not saying it’s right, I am not going to repeat everything I already said but you have to deal with the context that existed on that day instead of made up narratives that suit your political agenda.

I mean I think at best you say just because it’s chaotic doesn’t mean you don’t have first amendment rights to be there. Like yeah you don’t have a constitutional right to light a car on fire but you do have a right to criticize your government in a public space. And as much as people don’t want to acknowledge it that same protection applies applies to Rittenhouse’s right to be there for whatever purpose he chose.
Now, if you want to have a broader conversation about whether a lightweight, user friendly semi automatic rifle should be in the hands of a minor during a riot- yeah that was a massive failure of judgement and completely moronic. This was an obvious outcome of what he was doing from a common sense perspective but likely not terribly relevant in this trial.

Not super close to the details of the trial, but I have 2 points to make:
1. Before this trial, based on the coverage I had seen of this, it sure looked like consensus was that he *should* be guilty. Now looks like a lot of people are changing their minds, including media outlets and the coverage seems to lean the opposite way. We'll see where this lands, but I'm pleased to see people able to change their minds based on facts. Again, idgaf so I don't know the details, but that's my 10 thousand foot view or whatever.
2. Regardless of the trial outcome and whether or not he is found guilty, I'm 100% convinced this kid is a fucking idiot though.
I don't think he went there to kill people, but I'm positive he went there because he wanted to walk around with his AR15 so he could stroke whatever rambo/small pee pee complex he has.

This is why context and facts are important -
Its not like he traveled 500 miles to go fuck shit up in a foreign town. His mom lived in Antioch and his Dad lived in Kenosha which are border towns. It was illegal for him to buy the gun he gave his buddy money to hold it for him until he turned 18 so they were holding it in a gun safe but it was legal for him to shoot it, kind of a vague law about whether a 17 year old is allowed to hold another persons gun if it’s otherwise legal.

You know, that's actually an interesting point, and I think it simply boils down to it actually triggering that demographic. Don't reinvent the wheel, if you want to trigger a gun-toting, truck-lifting, self-proclaimed "alpha male", tell them they're compensating for a small weiner, and it will 100% get the job done. And on your last point about self-defense, I never said it had anything to do with self defense, to simplify, my second point boils down to:

Sounds like first person shot the self defense argument is pretty solid. If the 2nd and 3rd person shot thought Kyle was an active shooter and they were trying to stop him does that change anything for the self defense argument or no since they were pursuing him?

I have no idea what happened because I didn't see it happen therefore you don't engage. But I do see what you mean, this would more so be a question if the person who tried to shoot Kyle was successful and had received charges from it.

ok yeah sure you do. im in a rural area too and never have seen someone walking with an ar15. Again if he wasnt playing good guy with a gun the attack wouldnt have happened. He put himself in that situation with a weapon and drew attention to himself by walking around with ar15. no way did he walk into that event thinking nah this should be cool people wont mind me walking around with this gun.
