The Fed is backing everything and keeping interests rates at an all time low; that being said obviously this will have a long lasting impact on inflation. If the people who keep saying the economy is doing terrible understood finance they would know their completely wrong. The unemployment rate is still high due to the fact that people are refusing to go back to work plus there are those making close to as much money not working as they were when they were working. That is also a personal problem, if you were making trash money before this than either quit your job and or go somewhere else and or educate yourself. I work in the live entertainment field, and I have been out of work since March, applied to 7 or 8 places for a min wage job, none of them ended up working out, places wouldn't get back to me for months. Now my car runs like garbage and I can't pay to fix that, so I can't work far away, thus limiting my options even further.

I'm glad you got back to your finance job, but how about a little empathy and respect for people who won't be back to work until we actually contain the problem at hand.

The fuck america has the highest death toll right now almost 200 thousand people, look at chinas numbers and they are way lower even with the huge population they have only 5 thousand deaths yet america sees that many in less than a week. Bro first off I don't work in Finance haha, it's called self education. I didn't even go to college though technically I have an associates degree because I did online school. Bill gates dropped out of Harvard yet was the richest man in America for many years. Making money has nothing to do with going to school. There's plenty of educated people with degree's that don't make large sums of money. This is why millennial's are brainwashed as there told they need to go to college even though that's completely false. This is what people are starting to realize as last year I made close to 80K and that has nothing to do with any schooling or connections just work ethic and long hours.

If you wanted to be working right now you easily could be. There are numerous companies hiring at an insane rate right now, never mind blue collar work. I work as a server and bartender for my main job which is my main source of income though I now don't have that anymore. That being said I'm still working and I'm fine. Just like Biggie said "don't be mad UPS is hiring". If you have a degree and a work ethic you could walk into many jobs right now and make good money. The fact that someone is in a particular line of work and now can't do that is a personal problem as you lacked job security. Obviously no one was expecting a pandemic though you have to work with the situation you're in. Yes those will continue to collect or they will go else where and do what means necessary.
When the market crashed in 08 no one was going to be building houses for the foreseeable future. That doesn't mean as a construction worker you're just gonna blame everyone else and sit at home for years.
