If you want a Quicker and agile platform I’d say 181, if you want a more chargy but slower platform 186.

Youd still be able to charge on the 181’s and the 186 will still be adgile especially being 200 you’ll have lots of weight to throw the ski around.

but the smaller ski will turn quicker cause of less ski to maneuver and the bigger ski will be a little more stable purely because of having more platform.

If youre a reallllly solid skier you could go bigger but it’s realy up to you. It’s all personal preference and what you’re looking for in the ski. What did you ride in the past?


I ride 181 Magnus 102 for park and 191 Jeffrey 116’s for pow For reference. I’m 6’0 155lbs

I think you could go 186 without much sacrifice given how you describe your skiing.

I’m 6’0 165 and my daily is a K108 in 186. Felt a bit sluggish in tight stuff at first but I got used to it.

Also have a 181 Jeff 96 for smaller hill/park days and it feels a bit too short in comparison. It’s suuuuper nimble but I’d rather deal with the extra weight for a smoother more confidence-inspiring ride. Going to replace with 186 J102.

When I chose the smaller size I talked to Scott and he said I could go to 181 if I really wanted to prioritize rails and spinning, and at my weight I’d likely be ok, but that the recommended length would be 186 for sure.

I guess the question is why are you questioning the length you have now? Have you had issues? Desire more? Will 5cm make that much of a difference?-idk.

To answer your question though no, 186 is not too small for east coast even if you're skiing trees, especially considering the mount point on the Jeffrey. I like my skis big 😬

Go 186, 81 is just so short for your height and weight. Im 6ft 180lbs and I ski on the 191cm Jeffrey 116, they are just an awesome all around ski. I may grab a Jeffrey this year in a 186 only for those days in interior BC where you're bouncing through trees all day every day.

I'm 5'11" and my weight has hovered around 140 since owning my Jeffrey 114 181cm.

I like the 181 and they are surprisingly stable in high speed charging stuff, and I can definitely find their limit but it is pretty easy to recover. They are very playful and whenever I want to charge harder I opt for my Wrenegades.

If you have already been skiing them and like them, keep them, if you find they aren't supportive enough sell em for a 186 or maybe the woodsman
