Dopest mountains to work at in BC?

SendyMcSendyfaceAfter a few years in Idaho, I've decided to give BC a try. Never been, and know little about it, so I'm looking for a mountain with a solid/fun mountain ops department (most of my work experience is as a liftie). Also, deep snow and rad terrain would be fun.

Did 2 seasons at Panorama

Pros:
Awesome terrain. Seriously gnarly if you know where to look.
No lift lines during the week, and I mean NO lift lines. 2 minute wait max during the weekend.
Nice staff accom (get your own room). Nearby town of Invermere has loads of ski bum accommodation too.
Nice 'family' feel to the resort. Small enough that you get to know everyone working there.
Management peeps are great
Park fires in spring, good progression features all the way up to 50ft booters
The views are unbelievable, rarely get whiteouts.

Cons:
Lacks the snow of the nearby resorts... had a fair few decent pow days but no way near as consistent as Revy or Whitewater
Not much nightlife compared to Lake Louise etc. If you like the party powder, then maybe not for you

Not in BC but Castle Mountain in Alberta is a pretty rad place to work and ski. The ops department is super small and tight. You will also get to know every other person who works at the mountain. You pay less tax in Alberta too. The lightest snow I've ever skiied has been there, and it's rarely busy. There's just a few janky old lifts, but the mountain is huge and fun to explore. Good mix of mellow to gnarly tree skiing and wide open alpine bowls and chutes. There's also a cat skiing area that's open to touring a few days a week.
I know people who have worked at Fernie and they loved it there. Fernie is for sure a great resort with incredible terrain and snow. If you're familiar with BurrrLapz/Dylan Siggers you've seen some of it.
Whitewater is my favourite resort skiing ever but I'm told it's kinda hard to get a job there and even harder to find a place to live in Nelson, but it would be my first choice for skiing.
I know a few people who worked at Red and love it. Also really great terrain there.

Never actually heard of either of these, but I much prefer smaller, less crowded resorts, so I’ll check em out!

I've only worked at mount Seymour in North Vancouver, it was nice but super small I don't know what you're used to, it's 3 lifts but half the mountain becomes a terrain park by the end of the season. Small lift lines during the week and open to 8pm so night skiing every night, check them out, I worked there as an instructor and it was great.

Whitewater in Nelson BC is a dope place to work, small hippie town and unlimited BC access on your days off defiantly a sick place to work/live.

Will they let you into Canada (assuming you're american)? Maybe once you lock a job contract down they will?

I've worked winters at Pano and the 'backcountry' area called Taynton Bowl is so much fun - definitely worth a visit even if you're not going to work there. It has deep snow when it dumps and it keeps it since it takes a while for everywhere to be tracked out. It has super cool natural features in it too like cliff drops and fallen trees etc.

At the start of the season the park is not massive but once they open the main park (usually a month or so after first lifts) its great. The crew that maintain it do a great job and they bring in/remove features every so often.

Living in town is pretty good and its convinient for groceries and has a greater nightlife (2 fairly big bars) then up at the resort where there is one main bar and another smaller one. Lots of houseparties going on throughout the season in town too. The downside of living in the down is that you will spend a lot of time on busses. It takes about 40 mins to get to the resort from town. It depends on what you're looking for but it would be worth trying both town and staffies at some point (staffies is 10 min walk from pano).

The mountain ops department there is fab, the ogs are really cool and super friendly. Pano has a really nice community/family feel to it.

Overall I'd 100% recommend working there!!!
