How long to boil potato.

What in your opinion is the ideal time to boil a potato for? For different types of potatoes? We can also extend the debate to eggs.

Easiest way for me is to just let them boil for like ten minutes, then stab one with a knife and see if you can pull it up. If you can try again in like five minutes or whatever.

Boil water
put potato in water
cook until done
