Looking for Roommate(s) in SLC

Looking for a roommate in SLC beginning in November (or anywhere that's close to PC/Brighton/Alta/Snowbird)

I'm 23, from PA and graduated from college last spring. My job has become fully remote since COVID so trying to take advantage and get a 6 month lease in SLC to maximize ski days. Looking for a roommate (or multiple) because it's significantly cheaper than a studio.

I'm looking to keep it under $750 per person/month... there are tons of really nice places in/under that price range. I like to smoke weed, no problem if you don't but probably gonna be doing it a lot so just a heads up (have no problem keeping it outside). Probably will go to bars on the weekends and try to meet new people but I don't regularly drink throughout the week... I'm a pretty laid back guy so if you prefer to keep to yourself that's no problem. Also like playing video games.

remind us again what SLC neighborhood you moved to that’s both an awesome location and affordable?

its summer Newschoolers and a fellow NSer is looking for advice on moving to a major ski industry hub, so I'm chiming in. Since in previous SLC threads you had very strong opinions against Sugar House and suggested you lived in a better spot, we're all ears on what that mysterious spot might be...

I've built my career based out of moving to SLC and I'm very thankful for all the opportunities the city provides, so I'm happy to help others looking to transplant here too

having an orange name is irrelevant to this (and most) threads

i don't think he was shitting on any location, he was simply pointing out the fact that there wasn't a location that could possibly be in salt lake and (subjectively) "close" to pc, brighton, alta and snowbird. skierman lived a street over from me in the middle of sugarhouse for like 4 years

I know he wasn’t in this thread, I was moreso referencing previous SLC threads where it’s nothing but complaints and even insults about Sugar House and he claimed he found a better neighborhood, yet won’t disclose what it is. Would be helpful for all if he’d answer where this magical zone is, but I’m guessing it doesn’t exist cuz it’s skierman

I can’t name a better neighborhood in SLC that combines quick freeway access, proximity to all resorts (except if you exclusively ski LCC), proximity to airport, has its own active downtown, and colleges if you’re that age. Cost has increased but quality of the downtown has increased alongside it

yep, can't argue with any of that. grocery store + liquor store close by, decent bars within walking distance, nice and quiet, super quick, flat bike ride downtown as well. not super ideal for ski bum-my jobs these days because rent is going up but if you're workin, it's a great spot to be.

OP, since you're only planning on being here for six months it would probably make more sense to find a place with an empty room instead of signing a lease. Most leases around here are for a year minimum. Look at Craigslist and KSL, rooms are always opening up and typically cheap. If you move in with similar aged people who live close to downtown you should be fine
