Do you ever ride your skateboard with the nose in back and the tail in front?

the nose of the board im riding at the moment has a taller nose than its tail and sometimes it feels easier to pop with my rear foot on the boards nose and my front foot up towards the boards tail. Do you ever try/prefer riding with the more pronounced shovel under your rear foot?

I feel like it doesn't matter as long as it looks cool, no one can tell by looking at it from far away what the nose and tail is if it's a normal skateboard

If you are looking for some info on irrational numbers I've read some interesting books and papers on the topic recently. I do a lot with statistics so I find that sorta thing very interesting.

Does anyone actually skate in this thread?

To answer the simple question:

Yes, sometimes I will turn my mostly symmetrically shaped board backwards and use the "nose" as the "tail". I do this every-so -often when I notice i'm getting razor "tail" on one side. It helps the board wear more evenly since I don't skate switch or fakie a lot.

Yeah. My tail isnt fully razored yet but its not popping like it used to. Could be the wood aging too as ive had this board a few yrs

I use to ride old school shaped 9+inch boards and I’d ride them both ways to avoid razor tail. I honestly preferred to ride them backwards when I was skating street.

Generally speaking, your front truck is tends to be looser than your back. A slightly tighter back truck provides stability, while the front truck is really what is responsible for your turning. Also, people develop grooves on their front/back trucks from specific grinds, like 5-0 and crooks. The deeper the grove, the easier it is to lock into these said grinds. If you constantly change which way you are riding the board, you wont really develop them.

In the long run it is all personal preference, and I believe Real has a twin tail board. If you don't care about having a designated front and back truck, then this is the board for you. Personally, I never skate my nose as the tail.
