lukemostollerI have a pair. I ski the east coast and I absolutely love them. You can ski them fast and hard but they will also slide around super easy due to the rocker. I had my friend detune them underfoot for rails and they feel super loose when they are flat on the bases. Lay them on edge and you will not find the speed limit. Great east coast one ski quiver if you want something with the stability of metal laminates without the traditional rocker profile that usually comes with them.
lukemostollerThey dont float, but if you are on the east coast/ have wide skis that shouldn’t matter. No other cons whatsoever. Also, I mounted mine -4 which is plus 2 from rec I believe and I love it

SavageBiffRec is -8
hot.pocketRec is -8 but most of the guys in the factory / on the team run them at -6.
DesertStixThanks boss!
TrefinI have commander 108s and mounted them at -8 initially then -6, they are perfect at -6, you wont regret it.
DesertStix-8 is the big triangle, correct?

TrefinI believe so
hot.pocketYup, large center triangle is -8. Smaller triangles show -6, -7, -9 and -10.
SavageBiffWhere’s the center of the sidecut radius? On the 108

hot.pocketWe run a dual radius on the Commander series, the front and back radii meet at 8 cm behind the center of the ski. This is also the slimmest [108mm] section of the ski.
The more traditional skiers usually prefer the -8 mount for a more aggressive, drive the front of the ski feel. More freestyle oriented skiers go -6 as it still gives the charginess and aggressive nature of a directional platform while giving the skier slightly more maneuverability in tighter terrain and in the air.
Any commander videos on https://www.instagram.com/tylercurle/ are mounted at -6.
SavageBiffThank you , I needed this to help me make up my mind on where to mount.
What happens to this years skis when you release next years in a few weeks? Will they still be available for purchase, may want the 98s to complement the 108
DesertStixWhen the new site drops on 8/1 they’ll put up all their new skis and EVENTUALLY what is on there right now that didn’t sell will go to ski burger or be sold at a lower price but homie said it can take a little bit because the roll out of the new products/site takes up all their time for awhile.

jsternWhat's the deal with this now that rec on the new layup is -10? Do factory folks ski them at -6 still or -8?
Foxtrotx1For what it's worth I'm skiing the 2020/21 at -10 and loving it. Ski rips.
DesertStixWhere you skiing this week
Foxtrotx1The bowl next week and until I defend in April. Then Tahoe/beartooth. You?
DesertStixSame this week. Thinking about a boot pack up to midway for a sunset lap tomorrow. Definitely riding Monday hit me up if you’re around.
Foxtrotx1Hopefully bowl access stays open for ya. It's 45 today at the base. Like, WTF.
I'm up Thursday.
Since this is a commander thread...
