Why does the media complain about trump rallies but not the riots?
One is a loose group of people protesting the unjust murder of George Floyd and the other is the POTUS organizing an event with very few, if any safety precautions.

Pretty much this. I'd just add that it's gotten bigger than the murder of George Floyd at this point, it's protesting systemic racism.
Not that OP would understand, he was arguing in the other thread that black people are poorer because they're dumber, and that they have a predisposition to being criminals because they lack values or some shit, so good luck having a discussion with the guy.

a trump rally is a close-quarters indoors event where people who proudly don't wear masks yell and laugh and breathe in each other's faces. that's not taking place like almost anywhere else right now, esp not for some flop of a political rally
also OP it seems like you live in a very specific corner of the internet so maybe you don't know but the US public supports the protests and it isn't even close, it's like 70% support

The fact that the protests are outside and people wear masks makes a big difference. But nobody is denying that the protests are going to spread covid but look at the reason behind the protests vs trumps rallys.

There was no spike of COVID-19 cases associated with a June 2 vigil of 5,000 people, who gathered in front of the Idaho Capitol in honor of black Americans killed by police or vigilante violence, the Idaho Press reported last week. The vigil took place outside, the majority of attendees wore face masks, and few people spoke outside of preselected speakers. All of these factors can contribute to lower transmission of viral droplets. Protests in which people shout may pose higher risk of transmission, but attendees of those demonstrations also tend to wear masks.
Contrast that with the conditions at crowded bars: speaking and drinking in close quarters, fewer masks, and inhibitions lowered by alcohol can all create a more effective path for virus transmission. In Ada County, a cluster of 69 coronavirus cases was linked to people who visited bars mostly located in downtown Boise, according to the Idaho Press.
Idaho’s Central District Health announced on Monday that Boise and the larger Ada County, which moved to the final stage of reopening on June 13, will be reverting to the previous stage of reopening, following a spike in coronavirus cases. As part of that return to the previous stage, bars and nightclubs will be closed.
“Speech droplets disperse more rapidly into the space around us, and provided we practice physical distancing, the probability of transmission likely becomes lower,” said a spokesperson from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK).
A report by NIDDK outlines speech experiments conducted using high powered lasers. The experiments found that loud speech can lead to the release of thousands of oral fluid droplets per second. In the stagnant air environment created in their lab, the droplets stayed in the air for between eight and 14 minutes. Speech droplets, they say, rapidly dehydrate, shrinking in size, slowing their descent to the ground.
“The study showed that droplets can remain airborne for many minutes in a quiet box without much convection or other air currents. The researchers speculate that the droplets could remain in the air for longer stretches and potentially cover larger spaces in a real environment where there is plenty of air movement,” said a NIDDK spokesperson in a written response to questions submitted to the team.

I know you won't actually take my response seriously, but I'll give it a crack anyway in hopes to get through.
People in poverty commit more crimes because of the way society is structured, and the history of systematic racism only makes it worse for POC. Their communities, social programs, and education, are usually severely underfunded. They're more likely to not be able to afford college tuition. They often have a tough enough time just putting food on the table, let alone paying for education. If you have no education, it's increasingly difficult to get a job in today's society. If you can't get a job, how else do you put food on the table? If they do have a job, they work 50+ hours a week just to pay rent and put food on the table.
