The symbolism of birds and death? (not a troll post)

For the past few weeks there has been a fantail, who is constantly trying to break into my room, sometime he flies in when the window is open. Separately, today I was reading some philosophy on suicide (Schopenhauer and no, I am not suicidal) anyways I came to the conclusion that suicide is a god given right and is morally permissible because it is the individual who has control over his body, to deny control is wrong. Anyways as I am typing away on the chan a beautiful wood pigeon came tumbling into my window, it died instantly. I was in fact watching this same pigeon earlier today in all it's glory.

So is this a synchronicity from the universe telling me that suicide is not morally permissible?

Suicide absolutely is morally permissible, I don't see how it wouldn't be.

I believe that this life is an inbetween point; a purgatory. Lots of people share this belief. You entered this life because your soul needed reconditioning for a reason that is specific to you. Until you make the necessary changes, you are bound to this physical realm. By killing yourself you are aborting your mission. Some people think that those who kill themselves will respawn on this Earth, or possibly in another place where conditioning will take place. Some believe in a Christian ideology that's hopeful and forgiving, even to those who quit. Some believe in a karmic cycle such as the Caste system, where the quality of your next life is dependent on your behavior in this life. You are basically a node in a massive social network. Something like suicide will negatively affect those in said network, and would be unwise to do if the Caste system has any truth to it.

As for myself, I think that suicide is an insult to God. Your body, whether you like it or not, is part of God's creation. Endure the suffering, and you will be rewarded. I believe that God is active in his creation, and that those who seek him diligently will be blessed. Many philosophers have agreed that we live in a benevolent universe. There is a lot to live for, you just need to look at things differently.

Be glad you're so ignorant on the subject and you don't know what suicidal thoughts are like or have had a friend commit it. You can read all the philosophy you want but that shit is dark and nasty and anyone who endorses it is the devil himself.

To be fair, I’d say it’s more for the persons own good. I feel like most times it’s just a rough period in the persons life so wanting them to stay alive is wanting to see them get better and their life to improve

I've lived it. I've lost a friend through it. I'm long past surface deep. Suicide is not the answer and I sincerely hope you find that before it is too late. It seems that you are looking to justify something that is unjustifiable.

Because it is the end of your life. There is no going back. There is still an undefined amount of time left in life for things to change for the better, unless you end it. There is a lot of good to found in life, you just haven't found it yet. Its been almost 4 years since I almost ended it and now I found a passion for getting others outside, have great people in my life, and can't wait to finally graduate undergrad and get out into the world more. If I had ended it my life would have ended as some hopeless high schooler. Moving on the greatest decision ever.

Not all circumstances are the same. For some people life never gets better. Like if I ended up disabled (like life changing disability) I would kill myself instantly without a second thought.

I think suicide is selfish if there are people who love you who would be hurt by your loss. Like even if i wanted to die i would think about my family and how much it would destroy them if i killed myself.

I guess if you are a DEA agent and you have spent your entire life ripping apart families by putting fathers in jail and getting people to rat on their lifelong friends and ruin their lives...then maybe suicide is a pretty good option for you, because in order for someone to love you for who you are they would have to be truly misguided. So when it comes to aggressive cops and DEA or FBI or ATF agents or SWAT who break down doors of good people and shoot their fucking poodle, i wholeheartedly would recommend they kill themselves.

but if you are a good person then think about the people who love you and how much it would hurt them if you died.

My first thought is always this, that suicide is selfish because it would hurt those you know. But then part of me believes it’s equally selfish for those people to make you live so they dont get hurt.

I wanna say i dont endorse suicide but I dont have any idea what living in that much agony is like. All i know is that I endorse having freedom over your life

Imagine going through intense suffering and pain for a long time and will continue to feel for the foreseeable future. Then someone tells you that you can’t die because it will make them feel bad and that you are selfish for wanting to die. I just don’t understand that logic.

Yeah thats what Im sayin. But then again i think of the pain my family would feel if i was gone and I believe i would endure anything to prevent that
