JaquinGuzmanHey. I am a boot fitter, the biggest thing is who is making the insole and that it is actually custom. I would stay away form any of the superset, masterfit , and sidas trim to fits.In the realm of custom insoles there are thee trains of thought , weighted , semi-weighted and unweighted. I make all of them but for 99% of people a unweighted insole something like the old superset cork or superset winter carbon will serve you the best. Stay away from sure foot at all costs their insoles are expensive and not custom its all a marketing gimmick. Best of luck if you have any questions feel free to dm me!
animatorI’m also a boot fitter and I’d have to respectfully disagree with your opinion on trim to fits. 90% of people who come in to our shop don’t need a completely custom insole. I myself ski in Superfeet and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with them. Granted everyone has a different foot so some people do absolutely need custom insoles but trim to fits 100% have their place. Just my 2 cents, you’re of course allowed to have an opinion as well!
onenerdykidIt's not so much which brand to ask for, but WHO is making them for you. Custom footbeds are only as good as the person making them, so it really is about going to see the person who is best at making them. Ask around, find which shops are known for this sort of thing, do it by appointment, bring your boots in with you.
