I just discovered something about Virtika

I remember reading somewhere that the Virtika name came from Virtual Colorado company, or something, on the Virtika website. I went to double check today and I discovered this:


So I was like “why does stigmatic keep coming up on this website, I’m looking for Virtika”. Then I saw the above and had an idea. So I translated it, shown below:



So Virtika means stigmatic in Hindi. Pretty sure I knew what it meant, but I thought I’d double check:





I found it very Lesh-ish to name his company that, given his past in India (Is that true about him living in India btw? I believed it initially but so many claim it’s fake).

I don’t necessarily condone the stuff Lesh does. This isn’t a stance on that. I just found it so Lesh to name his company Virtika lol

I bought some of the original (2nd year) outerwear. I liked it a decent amount but haven't worn anything since then - must have been 8+ years ago?

What's the quality of their stuff like now?

I mean people replied or you can google it. It's not a fragile eco system or anything. Also not well marked.

Idk it's not just a log in some shitty lake that people are bored and freaking out about. It's been an issue for years. Check it out sometime, it's really nice. Just stay off the log and out if the water.

The quality is actually good for the price on sale. I have a Virtika jacket from a couple seasons ago but there's no chance I'll wear it now.

There are plenty of fragile and protected areas out there that people need to stay out of so those can be enjoyed by generations to come, it's about nature preservation.
Hanging lake is one of those fragile ecosystems where visitors are asked to be respectful and stay on the trail.

Lesh was being his usual douchy self and decided the rules did not apply to him, that nature preservation was less important than feeding his ego for an IG post, and he went on the fucking lake knowing it's forbidden, and people are understandably upset.

What do you not understand?

Vote with your dollar. If you like what a brand is doing, support them. There are very few brands that still cater to the freeskiing / newschool niche. By supporting brands that cater to this sector of skiing, you are keeping them alive. And in a way, you are partially keeping the culture alive as well.

After the debacle with Saga over the past couple years, don't know if they will pull through. Seems like they did a lot of damage to their brand image and for that reason, I'd guess they are really hurting this year. I respect what Lesh has built Virtika into purely on business terms, don't really vibe at all with his marketing message at all though. I know Spyder has some skin in the game, but who knows for how long. Got Planks too - like them a lot. Their designs are clean. Can't think of other brands right now, but anyone reading this, please support brands in this scene!

Not asking you to support any one brand specifically including our own brand. But its important if you want to see brands to continue to exist within this sector of skiing that you support them!

And Lethal Descent was the shit. Bummed those guys dipped out.

I didn't downvote you, but I actually don't like the Virtika fit (on my body). I've had a t shirt, the athletic zip, and one of their signature jackets. The signature jacket fits way too small for a medium. They accidentally sent me a pair of pants instead (of course I tried them on) and they also were way too small for a medium. Nothing I have bought from them has fit well. Except maybe the XLT athletic zip (but I mean - that's like cheating, fit wise).

Their warehouse got robbed for something in the ballpark of $600k in gear. They couldn't complete orders. People started bitching. If I remember correctly, some were even saying it was for an insurance payout. I can't speak to the legitimacy of any of these claims.

i purchased a pair of bibs and a jacket back in 2010 and the fit was nice and baggy but the cuffs on the pant legs weren't reinforced and at one point, the insulation started coming out. it legitimately looked like the kind of fiber fill stuffing in kids sleeping bags haha. i still have the jacket, been trying to sell it forever but no one wants it.... also, the zipper on the cuff of the pants detached in the middle and would frequently hook onto my brake while skiing switch. thankfully i never had a problem but always a pucker moment when you'd go to revert and find your feet stuck together.

I have an LDC jacket that's 11 years old, and still in pretty good shape. I probably wore it for like 8 seasons, and part of last season. Miss those dudes for sure.

I've been riding with armadas gear for the last few years. Just picked one of their jackets this past season and really dig it. Fits tall, very good build.

Well you could see on Kerri/Johns IG's they both dropped Virtika. Also really cool trick, comment on Virtika's IG calling them out for 2/3 athletes they're using to promote their product on THEIR HOMEPAGE, have dropped them. You won't get a snarky comment from Lesh like normal, they'll just block you. I honestly can't wait to see who ends up in the poor house first, Lesh or his buddy Dan, still waiting on the IgnitexVirtika collab video, they better make it happen while they still can.

Sheriff’s Office Makes Arrest in Assault at Trailhead

On March 25th, at approximately 1250 hours, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office and USFS law enforcement personnel responded to the Spring Creek Trailhead in unincorporated Summit County, for the report of an assault that just occurred.

It was reported that David A. Lesh (DOB 06/19/85), a resident of the Denver area, violently assaulted another snowmobiler near the trailhead. Lesh was not on scene when Deputies arrived. The victim sustained injuries to the head and neck, resulting in the victim seeking their own medical attention. Witnesses on scene confirmed the victim’s recollection of the assault. The assault was also captured on the victim’s GoPro camera, which was subsequently released to Deputies.

On April 17, 2023, an arrest warrant was issued for C.R.S. 18-3-203(1)(i) Second Degree Assault, a Felony, and C.R.S. 18-3-204(1)(a) Third Degree Assault, a Misdemeanor.

On April 24, 2023, Lesh turned himself into the Glendale Police Department, Glendale CO. Leash was taken into custody by the Glendale Police Department without incident, processed and released on $7500.00 bond.
