I always wanted to see this happen, and I got this beautiful gift on my birthday when Chaz was christened. This is an insane political experiment that is highly dependent on enough opium poppy being grown in this area to satisfy the insane demand for heroin. Food is obviously secondary. Who is in CHAZ, has been to CHAZ, or would like to go to CHAZ?
So will this operate like a Freetown Christiania in Copenhagen? Almost got jumped for pulling my phone out and trying to take a photo of all the hash stands. Cool place.
I've been following the CHAZ very closely. It's quite possible that this is the everlasting meme machine the world has been looking for.
The first thing they did was to set up dumpsters and barricades to control who comes and goes. Sounds like they control immigration with a wall. Who'd have thought?
The garden they set up is one of the most pathetic looking things I've ever seen in my life. They put down cardboad on top of grass and then dumped potting soil on top. People were coming by and just placing withered up plants on top thinking that farming was as easy as minecraft. Hilarious. It's taken them the better part of a week to actually put anything in the ground. They'll have exactly zero mature veggies ready for harvest before they all freeze to death.
Someone offered them a cow on reddit and they refused it because they said milking a cow is rape...
Someone brought a bunch of 2liters of sprite so to be fair to everyone, they poured it out in plastic sandwich bags.. bagged sprite, my dudesss. Is anyone else on this level?
They let all the homeless in and they ate their entire stockpile of food the first day. Then they made lists of demands saying that they'd only be taking donations of vegan shit. Seems like welfare programs can be taken advantage of, no?
There's been multiple people jumped and deported by the dominant warlord RAZ and his gangs for wrong think. Very progressive.
There's been reports that RAZ had been extorting local business within the zone for money.
They've put shit graffiti all over ever square inch of the place to make it look extra 3rd world..
They had a fire at one point and who did they call? Not the fuckin ghostbusters...
Anyone who takes it seriously as some sort of 'next step in evolution for our society' is an idiot. This is not some libertarian paradise in the making and it will not end well. Eventually, either the government or citizens who've had enough of the LARP fest will put an end to this and people will likely get hurt.
It's funny for now but at some point the power and water will be shut off and the meme will come to an end.

CHAZ is like fallout 4 where you have to rely on other settlers to run settlements and it gets overran by molerats cuz they dont know how to grow fruit
I like the concept of CHAZ but its execution has been nothing short of awful. It highlights everything wrong with progressive woke culture. I just want it to keep going at this point because it’s hilarious watch the monkeys fuck.
If this is some how still a thing when Im in Seattle next month Im gonna have to check it out. To experience living history as well as the live comedy that it is.

Damn, I didnt think someone else here knows about that place. Its a cool area for sure. The difference is Christiania realizes they are still actually part of Copenhagen and has more or less a coexistence with the local government etc while CHAZ is a bunch of untra liberal LARPers who have no idea what they are doing aside from spray painting everything around them and acting like this whole thing is not going to crash and burn when the cops lose patience with the whole thing.

Christiana started with a bunch of homeless people creating a community in an otherwise abandoned military base.
Chaz started as a functioning community (Seattle) that was destroyed by a bunch of idealistic idiots.

Seems like the same idea of utilizing spiky surfaces in cities to discourage homeless people from making camp. It's saying "You're not welcome here, so don't even try."

Ya so i went to it last night w some friends saw some people speak and played dodgeball w like 100 people. overall it's pretty awesome imo. However, some are arguing it's turning into more a of a party instead of what it was originally meant for.
Even though the people who set it up probably think it's some type of communist/socialist shit, I still think it's pretty fucking cool that they just got law enforcement and the city as a whole to leave them alone for a few blocks. Would visit if they had a diy skatepark
