CaseyI hear what you are saying, I saw that Bill Maher thing also and he had to beg and grovel for forgiveness etc. But the thing is, for Black people in American society this is like the one boundary they try to have for white people. Maybe out on the progressive left coast people aren’t sympathetic to the Klan anymore so it’s a little different l but a huge part of this country is still ass fucking backwards on race issues.
Yeah. I think alot of the people who act like somebody should be thrown in a tub of sulfuric acid for using the N word actually dont really care about black people that much and they are just virtue signaling so they appear righteous.
its like that movie “men of honor” with robert deniro and cuba gooding junior. Deniro calls him “cookie” throughout the movie, even still calling him cookie after they clearly have become friends.
as far as i know cookie isnt as bad as the n word but i dont think its a term of affection either.
my point is that deniro becomes a friend and ally of cuba gooding in the movie and it doesnt seem to matter that he keeps calling him this semi derogatory word. The important thing is that they are friends.
i think there are things you could say to a black person that are much more hurting than calling them a name.
im not saying its ok for a white people to say the n word im just saying i think the overreaction to people who use it is kind of ridiculous.
On the southpark episode where randy says the n word on wheel of fortune, the rest of the episode consists of randy getting persecuted and treated the way black people were treated during jim crow days and slavery. The irony is that it is accepted that historic treatment of black ppl in america was horrible, and yet when somebody makes a mistake and drops the n word, they get treated in EXACTLY THE SAME horrible way that black people used to be treated in the old days in america. Its almost as if the message of the virtue signalers is that “hate is always bad, EXCEPT when the hate is being directed at someone we deem to deserve it”.
the self righteousness is kind of overwhelming.
its like the virtue signalers feel that they are the only ones allowed to wage total war against their enemies, while anybody who questions this is added to their list of enemies to be destroyed.
free speech is changing things for the better tho.
Hypocrites have a habit of suiciding their cause on the internet.
and in case anybody is wondering, i am firmly on the side of black lives matter and i think black people have a right to be rioting right now because police brutality is simply out of control.
i think its more than just white cops vs black males tho. Cops mistreat, assault, and shoot almost as many white ppl as black ppl. The problem is the cops.
