What’s up ladies and gentleman? I am thoroughly entertained by the Fagans apology video, as I’m sure many of you are as well. There are just too many elements of hilarity in play and I’m struggling to decide which part is the most amusing. I, personally, am torn between the fact that they’re clearly reading off a cue card written by their mother, the fact that Kiernan was struggling to read off said cue card, and Devans haircut. Please let me know which part was most amusing to you all, as this is tearing me apart and I could use the NS communities support in making this difficult decision..

The fact that people are trying to justify that ‘rap music built skiing’ and therefore it could have happened to any of us if complete garbage. I don’t remember dropping n-bombs and punching people in the face because I listened to hip hop. You usually just do those things if you are a piece of human garbage.

Everyone needs to look up or follow @cringyskier2 There were more videos of them on the first account but it got deleted and many were lost. It was not once and it was not just to a rap song.... I’m also sure there’s more out there somewhere.

Do you people lack empathy? Were any you teenagers before?
Everyone in their life has made a slur or a joke bad enough to villanize them if it blew up. I seriously don't understand the hate for these two kids in particular; note, I said, kids... sad to think fully grown adults are spending their time foaming at the mouth over these two boys.
Maybe you guys are actually just closeted, releasing your angst by trashing these two kids who you are actually uncontrollably attracted to.

The difference between the average person and them is that they have an audience and a following. I'm not on the US Freeski team. I'm not sponsored by some of the biggest brands in the game. I also have made mistakes in things I've said and done, but you can go look at my IG and I'm not posting it for the world to see.

I don't care if they are kids. Where are their parents to mentor them? Why are they allowing this to happen? Where are the brands that sponsored them to show mentorship or direction? They are by no means the first, and won't be the last, youngins to mess up - but that doesn't mean we can just turn a blind eye to their ignorance.

As I said in the other post that got deleted they are "Professional Athletes" and should act like professionals. Also they represent the USA by being on the Olympic team.

Yeah I would be inclined to agree. At 18 years old you shouldn’t be doing dumb shit like they do and expect no repercussions. I get that it probably wasn’t meant in a racist manner but putting it online where it will stay forever, was not a smart move and it’s shocking that they didn’t realize that. The apology video had me in tears because it’s so obvious they were reading a cue behind the camera 😂😂 this is what happens when 2 idiots are given unlimited money and resources to travel and train all over the world. Mommy and daddy are completely blind to the fact that their kids are lame ass e-boys who represent everything bad that people think about freeskiers. Just my $0.02 but this is a long time coming and they deserve it. I’m sure they’ll find another shit sponsor soon enough but that apology video was not cutting it

They are 18 and being tried as adults in the social media court room. Years and years of shit behavior has earned them their day in court. Justice will be served.

Please exam the evidence presented to the court by the instagram page @cringyskiers2. This evidence was produced by the defendants. Although addition evidence has been produced via a NS thread and other instagram pages, the court no longer recognizes these as evidence.

Their actions are definitely incorrect and irresponsible given their places in the ski world. That being said, I will give them the benefit of the doubt. It is undoubtedly true that these boys are dealing with the pervasive teenage problems of image and self identity, and they are approaching it through seeking online validation. This is a basic characteristic that plagues their generation, and to expect them to be inherently more mature than everyone else solely because they are sponsored skiers is just not fair.

This I do agree with. I just don't agree with the extent of which people are taking this. It's a waste of time imo.

Well even though they recently came out in support of people of all color/blm, they’ve been the most silent about this along with Oakley, granted it’s been two days or so since the booting began. I think the US team will have to do something but I wonder if we’ll hear about it, not something they probably wanna announce.

To answer your question, yes I lack empathy for two ultra privileged white kids who have never faced any sort of consequences for being terrible people. You are right, as teenagers, especially white boys, we say fucked up shit to see what the reaction will be. Typically, if we are in a diverse environment, we find those limits. Keep saying fucked up shit, and bad things start happening. The problem with these kids, and comp jock / ski academy kids in general, is that they live in a bubble. In this bubble everyone supports them as gods gift to the earth because of their potential ski abilities. These ski academies are also extremely expensive (isn’t wyeast like 60k a year?) that alone cuts out 99% of the diversity they would normally experience. So imagine spending your teenage years, ie the time you learn that your actions have consequences, in a hyper insulated bubble where everyone looks like you, sounds like you, and supports you no matter how much of prick you are. These guys are no longer kids, they have graduated from ski academy unicorn rainbow land and are now trying to create careers for themselves. Unfortunately for them, they never developed the humility that comes from consequences. This is not a singular problem, the higher up you go in the ski world, the more common this type of behavior is. The ski industry as a whole should be shitting their pants right now, because it could literally be anyone. The fagan twins deserve everything coming at em as far as I’m concerned, and we all need to take a good look in the mirror and realize what fuckin twats we can be.

Age is not an indication of maturity. There are 14 year olds more mature than 30 year olds and vice versa.
As for cringyskiers2, a large majority of those posts are not incriminating at all, just extraordinarily cruel. Almost a third of the posts consist of mocking their physiques, which is completely irrelevant to the actual issue people were mad about. Some of those posts are even from years ago when the twins were actual kids. I'm not sure what level of obsession would drive one to feel so much hatred for these two that they dig up video clips from when they were less than 14 years old just to make fun of them. It just doesn't look good from an outsider's view.
That's not to say that there aren't incriminating posts, though. There are three instances I could find in which one of them (not sure which, they look the same) actually drops an n-bomb. Basically all of these, however, are clearly supposed to be in a private context and it's a shame that they leaked to the public. Understanding this context doesn't make it excusable, only slightly less appaling.

You seem to grasp my point a little. White teenage boys say fucked up shit and that's a rule of nature.
You raise a good point about their actions having no consequences because of the vacuum they live in. This is true and I agree with it. To say they deserve everything that's coming to them, though, is a little too "eye for an eye" for me. If they're too immature to control their image online, there's no way they're mature enough to handle the shitstorm people have created for them. But, if you think they deserve it... you are free to think that.

This is where we differ. You are just making up excuses for them. If there's such a pervasive issue with their generation than their parents/sponsors should invest in mentors for them so they don't mess up as they did.

There are plenty of teenagers who have used the N-word, but not all of them post online for thousands of followers to see. You are just making up excuses for them.

I don't want to see them be banned from the sport for their entire lives, but when privileged white kids aren't checked we become the country that we are today.

So imagine spending your teenage years, ie the time you learn that your actions have consequences, in a hyper insulated bubble where everyone looks like you, sounds like you, and supports you no matter how much of prick you are. These guys are no longer kids, they have graduated from ski academy unicorn rainbow land and are now trying to create careers for themselves. Unfortunately for them, they never developed the humility that comes from consequences. This is not a singular problem, the higher up you go in the ski world, the more common this type of behavior is. The ski industry as a whole should be shitting their pants right now, because it could literally be anyone. The fagan twins deserve everything coming at em as far as I’m concerned, and we all need to take a good look in the mirror and realize what fuckin twats we can be.

Yep, it does suck kinda since they’re still young but in reality this shit needs to happen to get some change going. Just cause you were joking with your friends and may actually be very good to all people it still isn’t right, I said in another thread that I’m sure most of us are guilty even just quoting a song, but realize the severity of the words meaning. Now the youth is learning that even if you’re a badass pro skier you can’t do whatever you want cause it may catch up to you and fuck up your life.
