Fuck it, if it's your joy spend the money where it matters. Mtn biking wasn't the same when I was a kid. Would be cool to get involved in but I'd turn to dust if I fell now.
Would dabble if I took a year round job doing terrain parks and bike trails though. Get something cheap ish and stick to easier trails. I used to build bmx dirt trails so always been passionate about dirt. I just doubt I could friggin ride for shit these days.
