Replying to A Tire Thread
Are you tired yet? Gehehehehahaha
Gotta get new tires and since I live in midwest, I really need an all season grand touring tire that performs the best in its class for winter weather that doesn't compromise too much in other crucial areas. Consider this my one tire quiver (get it? OK I'll stop). I know these won't touch a snow tire but any are an upgrade from my current set which are just all season high performance and a bit awkward in snow to drive. I like to storm chase from Ohio to NY and New England throughout the year so winter performance is very important as I have driven through some nasty storms. Wet performance is also important cuz it rains 24/7 where I live.
I've narrowed it down to 3 (listed first choice to last based on reviews and tests I've read) but wondered if any of you have ever driven any of these tires before and had any comments for wet, icy, or snowy roads.
-Yokahama Avid Ascend GT (not the same as Yokohama Avid Envigor which is my OEM from Subaru)
-Firestone Weathergrip
-Goodyear Assurance Weatherready
