But really idk i do wish people would stop having a ton of kids though. The areas out west where there aren't people are great. I wish the east coast was more like that. Seems like the biggest thing is being deserts or far as fuck from any city or anywhere really..

I hate that people view it like "well we got a bunch more space still".

Public lands are awesome and we don't need any more friggin strip malls fuck. I love some good camping and recreation away from peoples.

I wonder if these landlocked areas have easements with the land owners for access roads. I would imagine it would be necessary for wildfire mitigation and such.

Yeah, this is a big deal in a lot of places. I always notice it the most in Montana, every time I try to sleep in my car there I feel like I have to drive 30 miles on a gravel road through private land to get to public land to camp. And a lot of landowners try to shut down easements, close roads, and keep folks out of that public land. My partner was reporting on a situation last year where a landowner put in a gate and no trespassing signs on a public road to try to keep hunters and fishermen out of public land. It's a wild situation.

In my youth I hunted a zone like that. You had to be friends with the landowner who would open gates and let you drive through his property to access public land. Mostly it just meant that he and his friends could get away with a lot more (atv's off-trail, etc) then they usually could on public land.

It's cool that this current influx of hunting apps are bringing attention to this, we've got hunters finally realizing how much public land isn't really available, and starting to take action to get more easements and access. We'll see how that progresses.

This is a huge issue for western hunters. There are enormous tracts of landlocked land out west. Some folks have gone to the extreme and helicoptered in to hunt these areas. "Corner jumping" is a controversial strategy that is sometimes employed as well.

What few people know is that there is landlocked land all across the country. Here in NY I have landlocked state (public) land only a few miles from my door.

Idk how true it was but rumor has it many moons ago people riding dirtbikes in nederland got straight up decapitated by adjacent land owners hanging up wire across blm roads.

It's an interesting topic for sure. I've always wondered how many land owners claim more than they actually own because of how difficult it is to enforce. It always sucks coming across a blm road on public land that's blocked off unofficially for whatever reason.
