I figured it would be interesting to see/hear the worst damage you have done to a ski. Pics and stories accepted.
I’ll start with my relatively tame edge rip out. I ripped out my T Hall edges at the end of a great day at Remarkables resort in New Zealand. I was pretty bummed, it was only my second day skiing in NZ.
Is that a top sheet piece that splintered off?[/quote]
Yep just a big ol slice of top sheet peeling off. Clipped it on a rail it just kept peeling until it just kinda stopped

WannabeBlisterThey don't cover "impact damage." Yes, this was likely caused by an impact, but not one that I could even feel. I have a pair of old Atomic Rituals that I've had much harder landings where I could feel rocks directly underfoot. They got coreshots too, but the sidewall is still completely intact after a lot more abuse than the Armadas ever received. Definitely recommend something durable like Moment, ON3P, Volkl, etc to most users on this site and especially this thread.
looks like you nailed a rock or something. You can tell by the way that the sidewall is stretching, that the impact was a pretty solid one. isnt that a touring ski? bummer about the ski blowing up like that...still probably should not happen on a well-made ski.
ReturnToMonkeyNice I bet that was quite an impact. Do they still ski just fine?
Yeah i epoxied and clamped them flat u can see the fold on the topsheet and a little divot on the base but it skis fine. The impact was the dug in part of a tube cause it was late in the season i split a rail and my ski went under the tube and right into the corner of it.
Cried over this snap, had babies these kartel’s since I got them and first lap of the day at bridger my dumbass thought it was a good idea to straight line out of a cliff instead of slowing down and ended up going like Mach 10 through a hidden mogul field... luckily bought a replacement single ski of a homie S/O snow share.

Not as bad as anyone else in this thread but this was after 1 season. The next season I switched to K2 and haven’t broke a ski since, which is pretty much why I dickride K2 they may not butter but them shits are actually built right and don’t fall apart
The only thing I don’t like about on3ps is how easy their edges rip out. The edge tabs are super small and don’t really wanna stay in, you can usually just rip them out with ur bare hands once you get a good crack going. Skis like Vishnu have big ass edge tabs, and once you get edge cracks, it’s a lot harder for them to come out.
coming from someone who has done epoxy repair to quite a few different brands of skis.
that being said if you can deal with edgeless skis, on3ps might actually last forever since the bases are so thick. You could fill the gap with epoxy and the bases will never wear away, but on skis like Vishnu or Icelantic, the bases wear away and wood core / sidewall becomes exposed.
There’s a company that has edge tabs that are connected like railroad tracks. Supposedly because it makes edges less likely to rip out. Can’t remember who though

Armada. That’s why armadas edges never rip out lmao. Plus they soften their edges so they don’t crack as much
That’s an armada in my pic at the top. I can believe that another brand would have done way worse. Guys at shop told me “sidewall and everything is still in tact. But it’ll be like $200 to repair”.
also I know Liberty used to soften the edges too but not sure if they still do
