Monsieur_PatateEveryone pretty much agrees that rioting and destroying other people's property is counterproductive, there is nothing to debate there. Add that to the list of banalities getting unnecessarily brought up in every conversation:
- not all cops are racist assholes
- violence is bad
- racism is not as bad as it was 50 or 100 years ago
But it's interesting to see people who where quiet over George Floyd's death now be all upset because Target was looted, really telling to see what triggers some people's indignation.
Black people are more likely than white to be shot by the police, this is the simple fact here.
Saying this is because black people are (much) more likely to be criminals also furthers the point that the system in general favors white people, giving them a better shot at having a successful life and staying out of trouble. So the problem is not "just" racist cops, the problem is that our society in general is still putting some at a disadvantage because of the color of their skin.
Whether or not it's written in the law is also irrelevant, because the data clearly shows that it is the reality, proving that the problem does exist.
If despite all the data, you still disagree that there is a problem, I'm sorry but you're very racist, which is your right, but don't be in denial about it.

a_burgerInstead of just posting this image over and over could someone explain why it makes it ok for the police to kill an unarmed man and brutalize peaceful protesters?
Monsieur_PatatePrecisely. Stats clearly show higher criminality among the black demographic, thank you for proving my point that our society favors whites by giving them better odds at living a successful life and staying out of trouble than blacks.
SnowshoeThompsonAnother white person crying “racism”
LonelySo you're a communist and would willingly obey a government that is violating your rights?

> favours whites
now you’re making excuses for blacks, they need to take responsibility and take charge. Not blame the external world. If there’s a will there’s a way.
come on monsiercucktate
Monsieur_PatateYes, we can see here that the educational system might favor the whites too, thanks for providing, you've been very helpful to my points today.
Monsieur_PatateYes, we can see here that the educational system might favor the whites too, thanks for providing, you've been very helpful to my points today.
Providing the source so we can learn more about the testing protocol, sampling, parameters, etc. would be helpful to assess the validity of the data though, and what it actually means, because this table alone doesn't really mean much.
I know you don't care about that sort of details too much, but it's one of the many ways in which you and I are different.
Also, sorry your tanker positions went to shit buddy :(
It might take a while, but I'm sure those will rebound eventually, hang in there sweet cheeks.
Turd__AuthorityGod dammit. I was hoping to not enter this realm but here I go killin again...
Gonna discuss racial disparities and why education is a source but not the cause.
The problem that causes these disparities is a higher percentage of minorities are born into a poor society. Many have SHITTY parents and are surrounded by drugs and gang violence their entire lives. There's whites in the ghetto too, and they have somewhat similar outcomes, although I wouldn't be surprised if it is easier for them to escape the cycle. Gang violence is insane; no one talks about that. The cops see that every day which causes them to develop an implicit bias towards skin color = crime. When the majority of the gang violence and violent crime you see is by minorities, you can surely bet you're gonna change your perceptions. I work in a hospital and 99% of gsw and stabbings are blacks. Child abuse is a mixed bag but definitely higher percentage are poor whites and poor minorities. So that's my bias I've developed after seeing hundreds of fucked up cases.
Now back to education...
Inner city students perform poorly in test scores. Most inner city students are black or Hispanic. @xxACIDTRIPxx 's chart will now be explained. Now don't be a politician and blame the schools. That's a farce in most cases. First hand knowledge is greater than what your politicians say, so don't try and debate me on this. My mom is an elementary teacher in the inner city (for 30-40yrs; was also a middle school teacher and those kids were baddddddd) and the lives that a majority of her kids have to live is astounding. Truly sickening. Parents killed in gang violence. Parents addicted to drugs. Siblings killed. Child abuse > suburbs. Violence between students. Health care? What health care?Other parents too poor to do anything but work all the time. These kids wake themselves up and walk long distances to school in any weather without adequate protection from the weather and cold because busses only pick them up if they live a mile or more away. They eat breakfast and lunch at school and then don't see another meal until the next day. Summer meals are partially sustained by a food bank that the teachers created. Then there's some good parents and it shows because their kids perform well or at least are passing. Most have parents who don't help them study or learn or read assignments at home. Everyone stop for a moment and think about your parents; I'd guess most of you had at least some support or pressure from parents to do homework at least some of the time. These kids don't have that support. Online assignments during covid-19 that teachers spent days preparing? Not one single assignment done or returned. Suburbs probably close to 100%. This virus is gonna make this disparity so much worse as they are considering half internet homework next year. They learn vulgarity by kindergarten and know what porn is by 2nd grade (yeah no joke). Violent behavior are regular by children in school. Ever heard of a 1st grader throwing another kid down the stairs or trying to stab a teacher? I have. ADHD and birth related learning disabilities that parents refuse to accept and manage are rampant; drugs during pregnancy and a smart brain don't mix. The only time they learn is in school and then go home to survive; imagine how bad your grades would be if you NEVER did any home study and your home life was a crack house filled with rats and cockroaches. Parent teacher conferences? Lmao. Lucky if ONE parent shows up the entire year. So now 75% of these kids have shit grades and the states have pressure to improve test scores. They spend half their day preparing students for standardized tests because funding and jobs are at risk if they underperformed (no child left behind was a monumental disaster); meanwhile classes like science and history are cut. Math is revolutionized to shit. And nothing changes. Teachers spend hundreds of their own money for supplies for their students and classrooms and even for fucking clothes for their kids. My mom gets to work around 8am and doesn't usually leave until 7-8pm on a good day; so once again the effort and dedication to the kids is definitely there, people just want to blame something other than the source that is poverty.
The suburbs on the other hand are polar opposites. It's not the schools. It's the environment. The family support. The funding.
So when you grow up in a shitty area, with shitty parents, and get shitty grades because surviving>school, you follow the path into drugs and gangs and further reinforce racist stereotypes. I would 100% not be where I'm at without my family. I wouldn't have done as well as I did if my mom wasn't a teacher.
Maybe I'm sounding prejudice. I hope not. I'm trying to make the point that regardless of your skin color, if you grow up poor, it's really hard to break that cycle. More blacks grow up poor than whites. Cops have biases. Politicians don't know shit about education. We need to stop blaming and start helping.
Edit: One last thing that's very interesting is many of these parents don't want to take any blame. Anytime their child acts up or does something truly horrifying, a good majority of them try to blame the actions on someone or something else. Punishment is largely non-existent except for the few parents who drop a "whoppin" on their kids. That's not productive and creates a culture of "its not my fault" even when it clearly is.

O1L_CH4DAnd everyone can see that all your doing is just cycling round the points in some kind of weird display of self righteousness. You know it, I know it. So stop kidding yourself buddy :)
Monsieur_PatateNah, we're all friends here, this is the internet. But I'd like to point out that you've posted the same graph like 3-4 times in this thread, so we might both be cycling.
Sorry about the stocks, it was a cheap shot, and I see you're still hurting.
I appreciate you and scaredwhitetrash both posting on my profile though, it's actually amusing to see my posts getting to you, I'm happy to be in both your heads.
Film.This thread right now
Charlie_KellyIs that Narsíl for LOTR?
Swandog7Quite a few businesses where the rioting originated in Minneapolis were owned by minorities without insurance. The governor isn't going to give aid to any of them either. Pretty sad if you ask me
Charlie_KellyProbably Glamdring because it can pierce a balrog’s skin. Orcrist is another favorite, nobody likes goblins. Plus elven blades are dope.

snowfinderYou're bad at trolling.
O1L_CH4DBtw I’m not even white
LonelyI was thinking this same thing...people in here are using this chart to prove the lack of understanding of statistics in others. The key thing they leave out is that 70% of the population is white and the rest are minorities, causing the large skew that we see in that graph..

O1L_CH4DAhhh baby boy, Monsieur_cucktate.
my portfolio is up regardless of oil. And even you know that tankers will rebound. You’re a smart guy.
There is no need to be condescending here, for we all know you are an insecure person. It’s ok, and I’m actually happy to be here so you can let out some of that pent up-ness. You can vent to us. It’s all right.
And it’s a funny situation because the reason why your being so passive aggressive in your comments and writing long paragraphs is because I am in you’re head! You claimed it to be the other way around.
Btw I’m not even white, so just imagine me and your gf, a quiet night in with a bottle of wine. And you in the corner just watching x
Monsieur_Patatelmao, so salty, I love it. You even came up with a nickname for me and now you're imagining banging my gf while I'm watching? Bruh, just how triggered are you? I'm not just in your head, I'm living there rent-free at this point.
For real tho, you shouldn't care that much about what some asshole said to you over the internet, it's not healthy.

CLQYou're glad the President, who has been hiding in a bunker all weekend, is threatening to use the military on US citizens? Are you trolling? He also had tear gas and rubber bullets used on peaceful protestors today so he could have a photo op in front of a church.
r00kieI just care that they stop ruining the lives of innocent people. I will support any action that ends this unjust violence.
JAHpowGood choice, good choice.
Did you like the hobbit series at all? I thought it was too kiddy. Nothing compared to the lotr trilogy. The use of a gopro in one of the river shots, as a videographer by trade, killed me.
**This post was edited on Jun 1st 2020 at 8:36:45pm
CLQIt's absolutely hilarious you say this when a Target is looted but not when black people are murdered by the police.
r00kieOnce again, I have been outspoken about how unjust the killing of George Floyd was. I can be against both police brutality and violent rioting. They are not mutually exclusive. You're reaching.
CLQIf you want the riots to end, then you want nationwide police reform. You're treating the symptom, not the cause.
r00kieYou would be correct. We need better cops on the street. Better training and a better accountability if officers. We also need to stop rioting as that only grows the racial divide and justifies the beliefs of those who hold racial prejudices.
CLQSure I agree with that but I can't help but get angry watching all those videos lonely posted. Watching those videos after the George Floyd video makes me want to riot. The fact that nothing hasn't changed so far in police reform isn't going to ease that tension.
