JAHpowThis is most likely untrue.
Please do your due diligence in confirming before believing- https://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2020/05/28/not-our-officer-st-paul-pd-says-social-media-post-claiming-one-of-its-officers-incited-mpls-riots-is-false/

little1337Damn thats crazy, hope everyones safe. Are there any Minneapolis NSers?
eheathApparently they got released after an hour, but this is a really bad look, you can't arrest people who are reporting an event, people are going to think you're trying to hide something...
BoostMaG15 Minutes outside of Minneapolis, a lot of places in the suburbs have been getting threats and everyone around here is pretty scared of the riots spreading

SnowshoeThompsonAnd yet history repeats itself. “Let’s destroy our entire city and hurt innocent people because a shitty cop killed a black man”
Absolutely no hope for humanity.
eheathImagine having sympathy for other humans, jesus christ dude.
little1337Is the whole city rioting or is it just parts of it? Thats gotta be terrifying
SuspiciousFishYou think any of these rioters or looters give a shit about the lives they are destroying by torching businesses or the sick people who cant get meds because they cleaned out Walgreens? Most of these people probably dont give a crap about the guy that got killed by the cops, its just an excuse to run around lawless and take stuff for your own gain.
BoostMaGAlot of it is pretty messed up right now, both st Paul and mpls, national guard is coming in. If the officers who did it arent arrested then people will get more angry and things are really gonna be out of control. 2020 has been great so far

eheathSo you think everyone who is out on the streets is looting? C'mon man, you're just making yourself look more ignorant, there will ALWAYS be bad people that take advantage of the situation. The point here is that a cop killed a man, hes not even up for charges yet and people aren't happy, watching the live stream last night most people are just walking around yelling "FUCK 12" or "fuck the police" and alot of people had good shit to say too, its not fair at all just to assume everyone is a bad person who is there to get free shit.
SuspiciousFishFor sure, I have no problem with people out being pissed off because the situation. The problem is when they start literally destroying their own community. In the live steam many of the locals are scared to death and cant get groceries and stuff now. There is plenty of footage of throngs of smiling people walking out of target with TVs, Bikes and toasters and stuff. In the video from the OP toward the end they interviewed a guy that said he saw someone burn to death in the fire. A ton of people who are not involved at all with this situation are going to suffer now.
There are effective ways to protest that make a difference that dont involve burning down your own community.
JAHpowYes, if they wanted to get in front of the situation, but this is why I said "most likely untrue" because I don't actually like their response all that much. It's not much of a convincing answer to a very serious accusation. Little1337 didn't post an alternate viewpoint, so I'm providing that.
eheathSo who's fault is it? Governor? Police? Why can't they control the bad individuals while the peaceful protest continues? The cops/governor are scared as fuck, they need to lock up that cop asap or its just going to get worse.
JAHpowYeah I don't get why this guy hasn't been arrested yet. Anyone else would've been jailed already had it been caught on video like this was.
SuspiciousFishHonestly, the biggest problem are police unions. They are the institution that swoops in and protects these cops whenever we have an incident like this. I agree, at least detain the cops involved so they can smooth things out while they do an investigation.

LampardThis is people standing up to a broken system. They have every right to be outraged, especially considering the police officer hasn't been brought to justice. You're not going to get middle & upper class white people's attention without making their comfortable, privileged, & insulated lives, uncomfortable. People don't give a shit about anything, until it affects them.
I don't support thieves & looting, but America needs the civil unrest right now—the only way to protest a system that commodifies every single aspect of life and values economics over human lives, is to show the very fragility of it. The moment in time we are all living through is going to be pivotal for the future of "the greatest country in the world." The sense of nationalism that COViD-19 has brought to the forefront of the collective conversation will be a good thing for Americans—they will have no one to blame for their actions, but themselves (I can still guarantee there will be some sort of scapegoat, though.) After all, the borders to Canada and Mexico are closed, and no other country wants to let Americans in without a case for repatriation, i.e. dual-citizenship.
Irony is, Trump finally got what he wanted; America first. All hail the almighty dollar, am I right?
SuspiciousFishYou can still get people's attention by peaceful organized protest. The difference is when its peaceful and has a defined goal, that goal or agenda is understood. When you run around looting, the general population sees fires, anarchy and looting.
"Fuck the system" doesnt work, because at the end of the day you are still dependent on the system and will return to it. To really make change you need to build you own system aside from the one you want to destroy. We see it already and it works but it needs to be more widespread. Things like:
Community Gardens
Charter Schools with greater discipline in inner city schools to fill the void that the lack of family caused
Trade schools in inner cities to lean actual skills that are needed in the US and cant be outsourced
Business Schools for inner cities to set up local business and make cultural push to 'buy local'
GET RID OF POLICE DEPARTMENTS- America was never meant to have police departments. The whole point was to have a sheriff who was elected and accountable to the people. We need to go back to this model for our cities as well as rural counties. That way when you have shit like this go down, you can kick out the Sheriff next election or set up a referendum to hold them accountable immediately.

FruitBootProAt this point I kinda think it's funny. Just let chaos reign I guess...not much else to do.
eheathYou really are a piece of shit eh?
