Murdered an African American during arrest
And his accomplice too cowardly to stop his co officer , and how does someone shaped like me potato head become an officer?
These racist pigs should be publicly hung in the street
theabortionatorAre you that mad that you can't use racial and homophobic slurs in the forums? Interesting gripe to post in this thread. Also I didn't ban you either. Just wondering what your point was.
Dude I don’t remember I was banned when I was blacking out hard every other night. No clue how dumb my last posts were.
BigPurpleSkiSuitAnd asians were also oppressed, the difference is they had strong family values, made sure their children were well educated and are now the most economically successful group in the US today. Yes they did not have the same history of slavery but they encountered racism in the US too after coming from abroad with nothing to their names. To say the blame lies with someone else and not yourself helps no one.
Lol what? So you're saying black families don't have strong family values or prioritize education? I've agreed with a lot of the stuff you've posted but thats the EXACT mentality and type of generalization that allows this systematic oppression of Black people continue.

Please explain the systems in place specifically designed to oppress black people.
Explain why black kids struggle to graduate HS
Explain why the single motherhood rate jumped from 20% to 75%
Explain how America is more racist now than in the 60’s.
ski.loonYou are contradicting yourself. You say that 10% of the population is black, yet, according to this link, 22% of shooting deaths were Black Americans. 2018 was 20.9%, 2019 was 23%.
It's fine to admit your a racist - because you sound like one. Just don't expect anyone to respect you when you admit it. To say that America isn't racist is ridiculous.
are you just pretending or do you actually not understand how percentages work ?

Love to hear some responses.
- The War on Drugs that unfairly targeted communities of color (specifically here thinking of the sentencing differences between crack cocaine and powdered cocaine) but also the entire private prison-for-profit system in America. (This is also a big factor in the jump in single-motherhood rate which you pointed out.)
- Under-funding of public schools in inner-city and primarily non-white districts. (Personally I feel this is the biggest issue.)
- Gerrymandering which makes it difficult for communities of color to elect fair representation at the state and federal levels of government
And finally I'm not saying America is MORE racist that we were in the 60s. I doubt we are. I'm just saying not acknowledging that Blacks have more stacked against, or saying things along the lines "it's their own fault for not doing more" is a huge part of the problem.
PeppermillRenoFor instance African Americans make up 10% of the US population yet account for 52% of all murder arrests and 57% of all gun homicide deaths.
Of these deaths only 2% were Blacks killed by Whites and 97% were Black on Black.
Well your accounting for elderly black folks and women who don’t commit many crimes.
But it has more to do with how pathetic middle class white people are. Everyone young who is buying into the nonsense and hiding from a virus they have a 99.98% chance of surviving is scum.
I have been ‘taking my chances’ in Florida since May 6. I can’t wait to feed someone a knuckle sandwich in Boston if they tell me to wear a mask jogging. Gotta support the economy.
couple hundred blacks get shot: "WE HAVE A RACISM PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!"
couple thousand people die of a new disease: "yeah, that's just the media trying to keep us inside . . ."
I agree with all that, except for underfunding of public schools being the biggest issue. I think the destruction of the black family unit(generally) was the biggest problem.

Scaredwhiteboy~600 white people are killed by the police every year. ~70 of them are unarmed. For comparison, ~270 black people are killed by police every year. ~46 of who are unarmed. Source: https://mappingpoliceviolence.org/
You never see a white guy get killed by a police officer because the national media doesn't report on it because it doesn't fit into their "white people are evil" narrative.
Did you read that website's data? I'll copy and paste it for you
Police killed 1,099 people in 2019. Black people were 24% of those killed despite only 13% of the population.
The website follows that statement with: Black people are 3X more likely to be killed by police than white people and they are 1.3X more likely to be unarmed, compared to white people.
They then say: 8 of the 100 largest city police departments kill black men at higher rates then the U.S. murder rate.
And to top it off, they say that 99% of the police officers are not charged with anything after committing a meaningless murder
If you want that 24% measured effectively, look at how many police encounters blacks had with the police vs whites.

I’m talking about today, not 1971. The war on drugs was deemed a failure in 2011 and restructured in 2012, that’s 8 years ago. The polling for single motherhood was taken from 2014-2018. Present day I don’t see black imprisonment for minor crimes being a large factor in the single motherhood dynamic. And it’s consistently getting better under Trump.
The school funding debate is a poor example for institutional racism as it affects anyone living in those poorer districts, not just POC. More POC happen to live in urban districts, that doesn’t mean the policy specifically targets non-white districts. I agree the funding system is flawed but that’s partially why there are programs like affirmative action to try and mitigate those disparities. But a poor white student in the same area won’t get that same treatment.
Both parties practice gerrymandering.

White peoples made up 68% of all arrests made in 2017 while black people made up 27%. So if you disproportionately commit more crime you can expect shooting by police to follow suit.

Yes, you fucking retard, I read the link I shared with you. I'm well aware fewer white people are killed per-capita than black people. The point is that white people are killed by police more frequently than black people on a raw numbers basis but you never hear about it because the media doesn't care. There are 2x more white people killed by the police every year than black people but nobody ever knows about it because mainstream media doesn't want to fix police brutality; they want to create racial division and use it to drive up their ratings.

What, so the War on Drugs was deemed a failure 8 years ago and now everyone is just okay and we can forget about it? Same as lack of funding in inner city schools when White Flight was primarily happening during the 50's and 60s and .These things have monumental, lasting impacts dude and we're still feeling, seeing and experiencing the effects of this today.
How about you answer your own question...
Why do YOU think black kids struggle to graduate high school?
ScaredwhiteboyDo you disagree that all lives matter? Whose lives do you think don't matter?
I agree that all lives matter.
However black bodies are the ones currently under attack and oppressed by systematic racism and therefore I think it's important to support the Black Lives Movement.

Black people start a movement called "Black Lives Matter" because they're tired of getting killed and white people have to respond by saying "All Lives Matter" or "Blue Lives Matter". If people don't see how that is wrong then they're part of the problem.

I’m not going to argue you about the finer details on the war on drugs and when policy changes were made.
The fact is that you brought up two antiquated examples (without any quantitative proof) that were supposed to be examples of “systematic racism” still practiced today. Neither are, because once again, anyone operating within these systems would have to be complicit and actively practicing the racism and that’s just not the case. Racism=/= systematic racism. You know what was actually systematically racist? Segregation.
And to answer my own question I’d say a combination of things. Flawed educational funding system (not racist). Lack of African American teachers (not racist). Broken family structure (not racist).

Maybe white people are tired of getting killed too? Maybe it’s not a race problem but an incompetence problem? Do you really think most police officers what to kill someone on the job?
nosebutterpizzaI don't think you understand the purpose and meaning of "Black Lives Matter". I'm not going to give you a lecture on it.
It was two pretty simple questions. I don't need a lecture. You can just say "yes" and "white lives don't matter." Everybody here already knows the reason why you're offended by this is because it implies white lives matter.
This shit is starting to get out of hand. Justice is deserved but not at the expense of small business and the community. Hopefully this will be done by the time I get back to Minneapolis.

White lives matter too much right now. Black people are not afforded the same privileges as white people so I will keep saying "Black Lives Matter" until we are on level playing fields
However black bodies are the ones currently under attack and oppressed by systematic racism and therefore I think it's important to support the Black Lives Movement.
Yup. I’ve been arrested like 20 times. Drove home by cops no arrest more than that. Noones even been violent with me throwing bracelets on.
You think those interactions aren’t different if my 6-5 ass is black?
PeppermillRenoDoes it make you feel tough? Why a month? Covid restlessness gets taken out on little old me?
Imagine thinking the entire universe revolves around you. You've been banned like 8 times dude, you get a longer ban every time you get banned and TBH I'm ready to ban you from the site permanently. You don't deserve to use NS.

You say they're antiquated and dont matter anymore but I'm saying they absolutely do still have impacts on minority communities to this day.
Additionally I think all of the things you mentioned are forms of systematic racism. You don't have to be draped in the confederate flag, beat up black people, or be "actively practicing racism" to be considered racist. This is just where we'll never be able to agree because I think racism DOES equal systematic racism.
Here's the definition I found on Google: Institutional racism (also known as systematic racism) is a form of racism expressed in the practice of social and political institutions. It is reflected in disparities regarding wealth, income, criminal justice, employment, housing, health care, political power and education, among other factors.

I haven’t done anything that bad and don’t remember the posts that got me banned. I was blacking out every other night when on house arrest before I came to Florida.

“...practiced by social and political institutions”. Yet you can’t point to a single piece of legislature that does this because they don’t exist.
You give me some quantitive data in any of those categories showing how any of those discrepancies relate to practiced racism and I’ll be open to changing my mind. Good luck though, it won’t be easy. Otherwise agree to disagree.

whats your opinion on black lives matter? are you so much of a scummy racist you don't think they do?
Bened_notnilwhats your opinion on black lives matter? are you so much of a scummy racist you don't think they do?
The name deliberately excludes white people because, as you have previously admitted, its adherents don't care about white people dying. At its core, Black Lives Matter is about changing the law to make it harder for police officers to harm black people and, consequently, easier for black people to harm police officers.
That's not an inherently wrong thing to believe; maybe the law is skewed too far in favor of police officers. However, the question you have to ask yourself is why only black people? Why not all people? If their goal was to reduce police violence, they wouldn't deliberately exclude racial groups that are also affected by police violence; including more people means you have more supporters and are more likely to achieve your goals. The most likely answer is because "all people" includes white people and they hate white people. They do not want less violence perpetuated against white people; they want more.
One explanation I typically see for the "Black" part of BLM is that police violence primarily affects black people, but as I've shown already in this thread, that is not true. On a raw number basis more unarmed white people are killed by police than black people. If you wanted to cause the greatest reduction in police violence and had to pick a racial group to focus on, you'd pick white people because they are killed the most.
One might argue that the name was chosen hastily and not centrally decided so we can't read so much into it. However, if that's true, why is there so much backlash against "All Lives Matter" from BLM supporters? The answer again is they don't believe all lives matter; they want to be able to attack white people without consequence. All lives matter implies equality. They don't want equality; they want superiority.
Also, you have forfeited the right to call anybody a racist after your comments in this thread.
Edit: this behavior only harms minority reputation and all the racist folks are out there like, yup, this is why. You're harming businesses who are likely already struggling. The cop had him cuffed. He shoulda put him in the car. He shouldn't have pressed on his neck that long or for any other reason than to immediately subdue a suspect and then release once cuffed. He was probably blocking a combination of his airway and blood flow to the brain and could have caused trauma to the cervical spine. Even after the dude was clearly incapacitated, he continued to kneel there. Partner did nothing. When ems arrived and they felt for a pulse, nothing. No urgency. Continued to kneel. Bad. Bad. Bad. This unequivocally deserves jail time for voluntary manslaughter at minimum. Cops see so much fucked up shit you can't even fathom so it's understandable how they can develop biases towards certain populations; biases that develop out of survival every day of all the abuse and violence and daily threats to their lives they receive. That however is no excuse for disregarding training and basic human decency and your duty to serve and protect. You think healthcare workers wanna keep murderers alive after they arrive at a hospital? No but they do cuz it is their fucking job. The video of this cop is way messed up.

I never understand this. I suppoet the reason for their movement. Nobody should die while being arrested. Its messed up. But this turns people away from your movement cause people do not want to associate with the people who violently riot and loot businesses that have nothing at all to with the issue at hand.

Dude Minneapolis is on fire. You really think there's such a clear distinction between "protesters" and looters? If that's the case, most people aren't protesting.
