little1337deja vu
Bened_notnilThere is literally a sale going on right now
DolanReloadedUsually their skis cost 524$ but they do limited runs with the cheaper s7 base that armada uses and they pass on the savings to the customer so the limited edition on3ps cost 514$.
obviously some people cant afford 524$ skis so they bump the price down 10 bucks for the common folk.

DolanReloadedHaha. I think if i could add some parting thoughts to that other thread id say it seems like armada would have to be stupid to not pay an extra 10 bucks per pair of skis to use ds 4001 if there were no redeeming qualities in armadas s7 base. I think this suggests there is something about s7 that makes it attractive—maybe it holds more wax than 4001/maybe its more durable. It just seems to me like if the only atrribute s7 had over ds 4001 was that it required less maintenance, that wouldnt justify not spending a few extra bucks per ski on better durasurf bases, because armadas marketing seems to target people who would happily take care of their skis and wax them every few days, especially considering the price armada charges for a park ski. I dont see too many lazy old people riding armadas who couldnt be bothered to get their skis waxed every few days. Most armada riders i see look like pretty serious park skiers.
im hoping i stop caring so much about this bullshit someday, but im kind of annoyed that armada won't explain any details about their s7 base or why they wouldnt choose to use a faster base like ds 4001 if all other things were equal.
its like ferrari using canned spraypaint to paint there cars which looks like shit but you dont have to ever wash or wax it. I mean what kind of assclown ferrari owner would prefer that?
Bened_notnilbut in all honesty, what Dolan said does make sense, the Durasurf is faster, and why wouldn't Armada put it on their skis unless there was something bad about Durasurf. If the S7 bases are truly more durable, then that would make sense
