New Touring Ski

Ok so my daily driver ski is a pair of 191cm Jeffrey 108s, I have a more directional all mountain ski too but I usually prefer my jeffreys. My dad has let me use a set of whaler 112 carbons that I put shifts on but I really don’t like the ski. I want to get a touring ski that skis closer to my jeffreys that is around 98-108mm underfoot. I have considered the line vision 98 but I’m concerned about them being too soft for firmer conditions. Also On3p has new tour options next year, and moments are on sale but still really expensive. I ski in the PNW and I’m 6 foot 2 and about 200lbs. Any recommendations? Also I already have a pair of skins and g3 ions ready to mount

I like my armada tracer 108's. They're a good midweight ski with shifts on them, and they've held up well in good and bad conditions. no complaints about them, but I haven't skied other more touring specific skis.

For this model year ON3P is making a Jeffrey 102, and I believe you can get it with a tour layup in the custom ski builder

Visions 98s are awesome but are definitely on the softer side. I am 6'1" 170lbs and ski the Vision 108 as my do it all (non-powder) touring ski and couldn't be happier. It is a bit stiffer than the 98 and is super versatile. It makes an awesome daily driver or volcano ski! Literally all of my friends who have tried my vision 108s with demos have bought a pair. 4 out of 4 people!

Just get another pair of Jeffrey's. Choose a ski you'd like to ride downhill, don't choose a light ski just for the ups. Obviously a light ski is ideal but if you won't enjoy skiing it you'll never want to go touring.

Just get the ski you want and it'll be a fine touring setup.

Can confirm that the 108s make a rippin' one ski touring setup for the PNW. I've actually gotten 2 out of 2 homies on them myself!

Good to know, I’m leaning towards the lines since they are on sale and/or I can get next years model for a similar price. Do they feel stable enough or are they too flimsy for pnw cement?

Ski Burger has 181 demo meridian tours for 330. probably stiffer than what you are looking for, but they are full rocker

Yeah I think they handle most conditions really well around here. They are especially epic spring volcano skis. I just skied the SW chutes at Adams with corn to mashed potato conditions and they ripped. Surprisingly stable at speed for how light they are.... I was a weight doesn't matter guy until I started to tour bigger lines. It's nice to have fresher legs while also being a on a fun ski for stuff like that, the Vision excels there. My 2 cents.
