the best snow cars are the subie foresters/outbacks if you take all aspects into account. they're nimble, roomy, reliable, solid, economical and they have enough ground clearance. resist the temptation to buy some american car, they're all shithouse.

Got good enough gas mileage so you can do skiing every day over the weekend (3 days where I am), as well as enough power to ride the mountain roads at 100km/h uphill.

Mine's an '86 with around 400,000km on it. Just got a new oxygen filter, front/left drive axel, and the basic filters and shit, and she runs fine now. The trunk is huge and you can put skis from the trunk to the back seat via the fold-down armrest.

Mine has heated leather, a crazy multifunction thing that shows average fuel consumption, driving time, km driven, etc, and a very, very good heater.

i used to have a 96 jeep cherokee sport, that thing was awesome in the fact that you could make parking spots out of the biggest snowbanks, but once there was any slick snow on the raod the rear wheel drive will fuuuck you over. so then i crashed hte fuck out of it. NOW i have a badass little 99 imprezza wagon, and i fucking lvoe that thing for the snow. put a skirack on it for your skis, and the back compartment is perfect for other random shit so you could fit a bunch of other kids in there with you for a nice little ski trip

yea i LOVE my 2000 jeep grand chero., it fits soooo much in it, i can put down one seat in the back and put all of my skis in my trunk and everything. its an awesome car, awesome sound system, tons of pick up, can carry everything and tow stuff. its an awesome car

i have to say the volvo wagon is the way to go...plus they run forever, and they are rear wheel drive which is way better in the snow...if you know how to drive it properly...but if i had the bling it would be one of those new dodge magnums with the HEMI....yea...

I have an Xterra... it is perfect...more fuel effcient than a big SUV or truck, and has plenty of space for gear, and extra speakers.

If I didn't have an Xterra... i would def go with a Subaru.

The new HEMI's in the recent Dodge models aren't the same as the older Hemi engines with actual hemispheres built into them I heard. I'm no mechanic, but I heard that Chrysler used to make an engine that was powerful and quite pimo, and had something going on with actual hemispheres involved somehow.

The piston heads in the engine are hemispherical in a 'hemi'. They are able to compress air in the piston allowing the engine to be more powerful and create more torque.
